What is God Asking Back of You?

This was going through my mind last night.

Reviewing 2 key scriptures - James 1:27 - orphans and widows

and Micah 6:8 - what is god asking back?

So, I start looking for this verse on www.Biblehub.com, but EVERY translation says "requires."

Now, I know to some that this is trivializing, but this was an oft-quoted verse, and one of my top 10 verses in the Bible.

The blech edition (2013) of NWT has changed to "requires" (with footnote to the old)

Why would Freddy have used this wording?

The term is DORESH in Hebrew and I think it carries the meaning of looking, expecting (back).

God tells mankind what's good and he expects people to do good.

Do you get the feeling from the changes to the NWT that they compared with other English versions and made changes so as not to have the NWT sound so corny and weird?

Like updating long-suffering to patience in the list of fruitage from the Spirit. I can't rattle all 9 of them off from memory unless I say long-suffering.

    "lovejoypeacelongsufferingkindnessgoodnessfaithmildnessandselfcontrol"

We were expected to have all these proof texts ingrained in our memory for use at the door and in Bible Studies, and now they dare change the verses and don't even change the name of the translation to "revised."

I might as well have stuck to the New Jerusalem Bible, ASV or even King James. After all... I liked them better than the old-NWT anyways!

The Org is trying to blend the RNWT in with the rest of Christendom's translations - because the internet provides all the evidence needed for anyone wishing to see the accurate translations of verses, as opposed to the Org's doctrinally fuelled version of the Bible, e.g. Revelation 5:10 - "over" instead of "upon", and 1 Peter 3:2,15 - "deep respect" instead of "[godly] fear".

JW's preach salvation by works, but after Jesus' sacrifice, salvation is by faith. This is what they do not get, but it is very simple and clear explained in the Bible. And this was a part of the Sacret Secret that God revealed only after Jesus' sacrifice. They do not fully get the meaning of Jesus' sacrifice.

I am of the same opinion as you that Micah 6:8 and James 1:27 are two of the most powerful verses which define the nature of true worship. They are major reasons as to why my sentiments are with aligned those using this site.

My 5 sons refer to Micah 6:8 as Dad's two hour sermons of 20+ years ago where I tried to get them to see the point of the church's new thinking on 'types and antitypes' that Fred Franz was basicly full of shit.

The 'Bible Hub' is a very good site. I have been using it to help a researcher understand the major change in the new RNWT on Lev.5:1. Hopefully that project will be completed here shortly. I have a 25 year letter writing campaign that was refered to in the 2013 summer talk "Human Apostates" that hinges on this new rendering in the RNWT.

When ever someone like you uses Micah and James there is a feeling that goes through me of a kindred spirit. Personally I feel those who have great respect of those two verses sit at the same table in the realm of WBTS opposition folks.

    Shalom Bill
