I am moving in a few months but before I go I want to sit down with my parents and present a tremendous amount of evidence against the Watchtower. I realize that some of you will say to just let them be. Well, knowing that they are in a cult-like religion is quite disheartening. I must say that I want them out. I realize that this will be a close to impossible task, but I want to give it a try.

This is what I want from you: Damning information about:

    1. Military stocks

    2. False Prophecies (very specific false prophecies)

    3. Why extreme shunning is wrong

    4. Negative info. on past or present gov. body members and presidents.

    5. Documentation of elders hiding pedophiles, rapists, murderers, etc.

    6. Anything else that would help.

Please give me links and addresses. I don't think they'll believe anything I just print off the web so I'll need addresses and email addresses so that I can get this information from the source (ex: military officials, courts). Also, for any false prophecies I need information from the Watchtower since we all know JW's only listen to the Watchtower and NWT Bible verses.

Lastly, for those of you that were able to convince hard core JW's of how wrong the Watchtower was, please share your story.

    Thank you!

    Hold your pantz!

You may want to read Jay Walter's exp. at freeminds.org, trying his strategy may help.

In the next week or so I'll be posting another scandal Wt's. been up to. Be patient.

SP, flooding people with information does not work. Dear heart, they can only handle a bare trickle, a drop at a time. Please believe me on this one.

False prophecies (very specific false prophecies)

Read the following information and take whatever specific WT quotes best suit your needs. Here you will find some of the WT quotes stated specifically that Armaggedon was a few years at most, and was imminent, and that was over 35-40 years ago.

If you take the time to read the entire Quotes website, you will find an abundance of contradictions in JW doctrine, and many fine examples of false prophecies.

Well larc this is the last time I plan on talking to my parents so I figure I should get everything out on the table now.

I agree with Larc, e-z does it.

The blood doctrine was the first chink in my WT armor. It was one of those things that I unquestioningly went along with at first, just accepted it as being part of the JW package. Once I took a more critical look at it and was able to see how completely lunatic the WT blood doctrine is, everything else came pretty quickly.

It all started for me when I was watching 60 Minutes II last November and they had a story about a little boy in Georgia who was cured of sickle-cell disease by receiving a transfusion of umbilical cord blood. CURED! Completely! Here is a link to the story:

By the way, I cried like a baby when they interviewed this healthy young man who previously was on the verge of dying due to this terrible disease. Just watching that program was huge in weakening my WT mental chains. They were rubber bands after that night. I thought to myself "Thank GOD that kid's mom isn't a JW who lets a group of hopelessly out-of-touch deluded religious goons in Brooklyn tell her what medical treatments are acceptable!"

Here's another good blood link - it is chapter 9 of In Search of Christian Freedom by Ray Franz. It basically shows that the current WT blood policy is akin to telling someone that they can eat a piece of bread, then a piece of cheese, then a slice of ham, then another piece of bread, but by golly they'd better not eat a ham and cheese sandwich.

If you could clearly convince a current JW (most of whom probably don't even understand what the current blood policy is - how could they? They're always changing, always splitting new hairs) of the sheer lunacy of this CORE doctrine, you've made a GREAT start. I'd leave it at that, let them find out the rest for themselves.

Watch Tower judges man on size of nose.

    1921 "The size of the nose, as also the size of the eyes, is not without significance. The small-nosed man cannot have a judicial mind, whatever his other excellencies may be. And a man whose nose upturns can no more be expected to administer justice than a pug dog can be expected to act as a shepherd." {GA Jan 19 1921 224}

PS. For you that want to know. GA stands for Golden Age.

Another fine Truth from the GB. But then in those days they still had Jehovah's Spirit.

Stink, I would have to agree with larc and dantheman. Being confrontational tends to make turn a person defensive. They will try to find any reason they can think of to disbelieve what you say. I overwhelmed my parents with Biblical evidences that the JW's were wrong. They responded with typical weak JW arguments, continued believing them and eventually discontinued our religious conversations which had been going on for months. In the end I convinced them of nothing except maybe a greater tolerance.

I feel now that a better approach might have been to put them on the offensive. Ask questions that forced them into "contradictory corners". If they had drawn their own conclusions, I could later show them that it did not agree with clear science, history or even the Society. A person can only take so many of these unresolved issues before they begin to question things more seriously. Unfortunately, admitting they are wrong to you is probably not something they want to do. Planting a seed doubt that gets the ball rolling in their minds should be your objective. Try to let them draw their own conclusions.

    Just my opionions though.

Know that sometimes a person is best left to their beliefs, no matter how wrong they may be. I eventually realized that trying to pull my parents out of the organization where they already spent their entire adult lives and where all of their friends are would just cause a lot of emotional havoc. For me it wasn't a big deal, but I think they are better off in "blinded blissfulness".

They are going to think you are dishing out alot of propaganda...documents or not..I have had people tell me they were fake documents.
If you act like you know it all..you will surely turn them off..they will think Satan got a hold of you.
I would just ask them leading questions, almost like you want to believe them.
For instance; "It just seems like so many people are saying this pedophile thing is true...why would so many people lie about that..?
I would act very humble and loveing...the opposite of what they think of an a apostate...actions speak louder than words.
Please let us know how it turns out, whatever you do?Maybe we can all learn from it ...good or bad.
My heart goes out to you...i understand your drive to want to make them see the light.

There is a scripture in the palsm i believe that states something to the effect; "To offend a brother is like putting up steal bars...he will not hear another word you say."
