How to upload images to Strike9 and use them in your Posts!

    1. Goto http://www.strike9.com
    2. Click Sign Up.
    3. Type in your details in the form provided, and click SAVE.
    4. Once youve confirmed your account (much like the JWD method!), click on the link that says My Files.
    5. In the picture below, click on the Browse button (see the part of the picture circled and labelled 1). Locate your picture file and click Open in the dialog that pops up.
    6. Now, click the highlighted button called Upload (see the part of the picture labelled 2)
    7. Wait for the image to upload, and then you should come back to the same page, but with your picture thumbnailed below the Browse button somewhere. Right click on your picture (see the part of the guide labelled and circled called 3), and then click COPY SHORTCUT. That shortcut is the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of your image on the Strike9 server, and is accessible to anyone on the Web.
    8. Now, you need to add the image to your post. Ive circled the button you must press and labelled it 4 in the guide image. Click this button, and you will get the Insert Picture From Link dialog. In this dialog, please enter the URL that you just copied in step 7 into the first edit control, as shown. Then, make sure you set 0 in the bottom edit box for the border, otherwise your image will have a blue border around it.
    9. Now you should be able to post your image. Have fun!

    Syn,

I've just started to use Strike 9, but my pics come out very large unless I reduce them to 40% when I scan via Photo shop.

    Is this normal?

    Englishman:

First, run the Image Size dialog:

Then, select "Percent" for the two size settings, and set it to the desired percentage of the size of the original image. For instance, 25% will give you an image that's a quarter the size of the original:

Make sure "Constrain Proportions" is ticked, otherwise you will have infinite pain with aspect ratios and squashed bitmaps. Now save the image, and post it on Strike9!

It's easy once you get the hang of it! Like riding a bicycle! Only the bicycle has over 10 different layers of abstraction!

i have a question about this step: Now, you need to add the image to your post. Ive circled the button you must press and labelled it 4 in the guide image. Click this button, and you will get the Insert Picture From Link dialog. In this dialog, please enter the URL that you just copied in step 7 into the first edit control, as shown. i don't do it this way. in strike9, i just right-click on the pic and choose "Copy", then i come into my post and choose "Paste". now i wonder if my pictures aren't showing up to the world and just to me, courtesy of my temporary internet files. is this picture here? i mean, do you see some dogs playing poker? please advise. thank you.
