I didn't take time to clean all the *<>* out - sorry for the hard read. Whatcha think? Should I put my email addresses onto this thing? And..........would you like me to email this thing to you?

I use Norton's - and it's not showing anything viral......which might not mean squat.

If you believe that you'll believe the Jehovah's Witnesses.

The funny bit was about AOL giving out free money; they are pratically bankrupt. Wouldn't mind creaming some off Bill Gates the Devil though.

Sounds kind of hokey, coming from a fortune 500 company - no virus? Hell, go ahead and try it! When you get the cheque, forward the email to me.

I've seen ones like it several times before. If anyone got any money I never heard of it.

    Hmmm

This is a sure thing.... your email inbox is sure to be flooded with tons of junk mail (even more than you already get) if you add your email address to that monstrosity.

People send these things out, and when they come back to them, they have a bunch of 'verified good' email addresses to sell to spammers. The same goes for the dying kid who needs a kidney transplant, which the hospital is willing to do free of charge if he can only get his story forwarded to 100,000 people.

This kind of thing nearly makes me cry with frustration. How can people not see through it in a second? I don't mean to sound arrogant or insulting, but surely, even if you hadn't spent much time on the Internet and even if you'd never seen this type of chain letter before, and even if you had no idea about the technology behind email, doesn't everything about it strike you as a scam? Free money, just for forwarding an email, the insertions of anecdotes: "I though it was a scam but I got my money."( And presumably tracked down every forwarded copy to add that in). And as for: "a friend of my good friend's Aunt Patricia, who works at Intel", it's a pretty weak argument from authority.

Having said that, I work for an ISP and some of my colleagues who should definitely know better have forwarded me this kind of thing, and some of them do it repeatedly, even though they didn't get their cheque the last time and they're still waiting for that free mobile phone. It never ceases to amaze me how gullible some people can be.

    WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Poo.

At LEAST I was smart enough THIS TIME to put it on the forum. Figured I'd get The Truth here. Lol.......what we have become!

Anyway, it sounded Too Good To Be True to me too. Thanks, Cassie - I'll send that back to my daughter & some of the ones she emailed.

Shucks. Thought I was gonna have me a GOOD Christmas!

    Thanks y'all!
