Something missing from Aug KM

I just read the Aug KM again on Reborns post. I noticed that they did not include what to do if they come upon a Disfellowshipped or Disassociated person who is stranded and in need of help. This had been previously covered with this same material the last that I remember. They stated something to the effect that it would be an act of good faith to assist such a person in need of help to get to safety, but not discussing anything spiritual with them.

You all know what will happen now. The Dubs will take this even more to the extreme and will not remember those points due to the WTS omitting it from this KM. The poor DF'ed or DA'ed sister who gets stuck in her vehicle on a dangerous road can now look forward to watching brother so-and-so pass them by if he happens upon her situation. I've heard of this even happening back about seven years ago with a DF'ed sister and her child stranded in their car. She was eventually helped by another motorist, after a Dub family passed her by. Oh well, better keep our cars in tip top shape, or make sure we have our Cell phones with us.

Good catch on that omission!! Geez those writers are sneaky.

I would say we'd do well to expect better help from the general public than from the passing J-dub in emergency situations anyhow.

Well most of the JW's I know are the ones stranded on the side of the road, not me. Since leaving none has called me and asked me to pick them up with my flatbed trailer.

Isn't it odd that when we think of JWs on the road -- we associate them with the Priests of Israel who passed by the injured man -- the man who was not helped until the good Samaritan happened upon him?

I also find it just as odd that JWs have to be told to help a stranded DF/DA person, yet at the first sign of such instruction being omitted, they will revert to prior Priestly behavior. Odd indeed. Not the JWs I used to know and love in the late 1960s -- they did evolve into something far different from what I once thought they were.

"If he were in a life-threatening situation and he needed help, we'd help, but we're not going to socialize with him," Stockwell said. "If he were broken down on the side of the road, we'd help him."

Words from their own mouths. More lies?

Taken from elder's response in Paducah Sun regarding Bill Bowen's disfellowshipping.

By the same token, if it were the in good standing dubbie broke down, would they decline the help of a DF'd/DA'd person if we came by? Wouldn't their "bible trained" conscience prevent them from accepting the help of us Apostates?

After I DAed myself, I got AAA. Didn't see any reason to depend on the Watchtower being consistent after all the other flip flops they did.

    Hi CC Ryder,

In the KM insert, the wbts direct to see The Watchtower of September 15, 1981. In the insert, they reference pages 18-20,25,28,29-31. They never made reference to page 16 which I quote the following from:

*** w81 9/15 18 Godly Conduct Toward Others *** NOT INHUMANE TOWARD OTHERS

13 As an aid in determining what our conduct should be toward such a person, we need to understand Jesus words: Let him be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector. In later centuries, some Jewish rabbis did express extreme views, such as that a Jew should not even help a Gentile who was in peril of death. Such heartlessness was not shown only toward Gentiles. For instance, in Jesus parable about being a true neighbor, both a Levite and a priest refused to help an injured fellow Jew, though a Samaritan later did so.Luke 10:29-37.

14 But in Matthew 18:17 Jesus could not have meant that his disciples were to refuse to do an act of human kindness, as in a case of accident or of desperate need. Jesus showed such kindness to some Gentiles.

So it realy isnt odd that when jws think of JWs on the road -- they associate them with the Priests of Israel who passed by the injured man -- the man who was not helped until the good Samaritan happened upon him. Amazing, you've probably read it repeatedly for years.

Makes one wonder why they left that page out in their references.

Frankly, I think any witnesses who operate tow-trucks should discontinue any affiliation with AAA. They can't just go around helping ANYONE out!

I will admit that my parents have helped me out in jams, but there seems to be a detachment that exists, which is horrible. I don't know how to describe it any further than that. Are they just being "good" christians or are they my family? Sometines it hard to tell.
