Mod's Rants Should Remain On The Board!

  Dave,

  I'm sorry and I hope this comment doesn't upset you but I compliantly disagree with you. This board has had way too many attacks on it especially in recent weeks. All this, he said, she said, stuff is crazy and somewhat childish. I do agree with you that apologies are very affective and brings the two opposing sides together at times. But, eliminating something that could cause hard feelings in the first place is better.

  Never worry about getting me "upset", that does not happen.

  As far the subject at hand I agree that "eliminating something that could cause hard feelings" is a good thing, but a Mod is not just anybody, he/she is someone who has the power to control what others say and should therefore be held to a higher standard.

  Anybody who controls others should also control himself, isn't that what we all say about the Elders and the GB? LOL, but when it comes to "our own" we want to overlook. So much for leaving the JW way, no?

  You were a big help to me in that you made me take a good look at my own involvement in these little battles. It's the respect I have for you and Larc that kept me from feeling that I needed to choose sides. I think a lot more now before I post. You had a lot to do with that and I thank you for it.

  You may be right, but having the power to control what others say should apply to themselves. They are not only mod's, they are also ones who post.

  They are not only mod's, they are also ones who post.

  When a poster becomes a Mod they are no longer viewed as just a poster, especially after having deleted others.

  If you, Dave, became a Mod and deleted someones post you would no longer be regarded as just a poster, but a Mod who posts! You would be regarded differently and your posts would be carefully read for forum rules mistakes. Unfair, but the nature of the man/woman beast.

  Mods here have a similar power to the GB (the power to delete), shouldn't they also be held to at least a small amount of responsibility for their actions as the GB are?

  Well as a religious group they are hardly unique. Read you history books, the GB have been with us in one form or the other since religion reared its ugly head.
