    G'day all,

How's the weekend goin'? Been too busy to think on really serious things?

That's good, because this poll doesn't require too much thinking!!

Just a quick response is all that's needed, so settle back, enjoy that coffee, and post away.

    Are you ready?

    This weekend's poll question is:

Which word of Borg-ese did you really hate ?

    1. true (as in true Christian)

    2. organisation

    3. rendezvous (remember that word? Who was responsible for that?)

    4. behooves

    5. heart-warming

    6. class (any class!!!!!!!!!!!)

    7. faithful & discreet slave (yeah, I know, I know, it's not ONE word, but, struth, the borg uses it like it was!)

Oh, OK, let's include the two word phrases!

    8. chieftain class

    9. given ones

    10. governing body

    11. shepherding call

    12. Cedar Point, Ohio (no offense, yanks! )

    13. Other (please specify)

Enjoy. Looking forward to getting your posts......................

    Cheers, Ozzie

    13. Other (please specify)

The word I REALLY hated was "worldly" used as a term of derision against anyone who wasn't a 'dub. It was (and still is) used to imply that "we" are better than "them."

    Mackin.

    Sleepy,

You've reminded me I was supposed to include this one from Mrs Ozzie: "brothers"

Sorry, sisters, you don't rate in the New World Society.

    organisation .... grrrr, lol

They have so many words that they twist and turn and the context they use them in ...

A simple word like 'good' becomes:

"It would be good for us to do this ... wouldn't it brothers"

    Which really means:

"You will do as we tell you ... or else"

    4. behooves

Somehow, whenever I see this word, I get reminded of the old grey upright Hoover vacuum cleaner we had at home!
