Well, I didn't mean this thread to become a debate about the existence of god, but in hindsight I suppose that's sorta what happens any time you point out the logical inconsistencies in any "christian" (quotes because JWs aren't quite christians) religions reasoning for trusting the bible. The main issue for me was just that they can't seem to get through a single chapter or study article without employing glaring fallacy.
In any event, I certainly fail to see how someone can say that it was OK for the isrealites to murder children in order to keep their parents from sacrificing them to their god. I also can't understand how someone could feel that the isrealites were justified when they killed for god, but condemn muslims for doing exactly the same.

Coldsteel the Israelite s also sacrificed their children to their god. Jepthas daughter, Abraham was about to and lets not forget god even demanded his own son sacrifice himself to him. There is also ample evidence that the caananites and the israelites worshipped the same gods. Try reading your bible and every time you read the word god substitute it for El and everytime you see the word Lord change it to Baal. Youll get a closure to the original translation of your bible. -

The more I read the Bible specially the letters Paul wrote and contrast them with the teachings of Jesus many contradictions come to the surface.
I'm sure I could cross reference the contradictions and settle the intended message.
The WTS can take one text out of context and make it law!
I'm sure when witnesses read the entire Bible and come across verses that don't quite correlate with the "current truth" they simply ignore it and wait for that next WT article.

Wow talk about circular reasoning they take the cake. Any way it's true if you start looking at the Bible more critically you will start to see Jehovah's character flaws when he flies off the handle on goes on killing sprees like some maniac.
The Bible is best read uncritically in Watchtower land it makes for a good story to get people enslaved to their corporation demands. Hey they hate education so what do you expect to come out of these anecdotal old fart publications written by brainwashed simpletons.

If God is all powerful why doesn't he just set up the situation like this:
Israelites: "Hey can you guys with all your weapons just go away?"
Everybody else: "Sure"
He surely can do it but instead he chooses to murder everybody in cold blood. -
