And hows it going? Interesting? Not interesting?

"Anchoring" and "Reframing", notions youll encounter towards the end of the book, are Neuro Linguistics/ hypnotic techniques. I found the Anchoring didnt work that well for me,I was never able to access a desired state by means of touching my wrist, or my left index finger. But the Reframing was pretty effective.I believe it was at any rate. I dont feel bad about a lot of things I used to feel bad about so I think it worked. The eyescanning/ eye accessing stuff is pretty interesting too. Up = memory, side = audio recollection, down= accessing feelings. Bandler and Grinder run seminars where they can tell what a persons feeling because of skin tension altering, and lip size varying. Ive never been able to notice any of that stuff in people. im just not observant enough. Maybe one day.

    Added:

Probably the biggest thing i got out of that book is the principle of setting a goal, making a move towards it (ANY move at all, even the wrong move, is better than doing nothing) seeing if your move gets you closer or further away from your aim and altering accordingly . This might all seem obvious, I know, but it wasnt to me. I think consciously and consistently applying that method has benefited me personally, enormously, in goal setting.

I've only got to page 75 in 2 days, but I find it all very interesting. From past experience, I find this kind of stuff really "up-building"? as I read it but harder to later remember or put into practise unless it already fitted in with my existing world-view.

I will get back to you when I've finished it though.

Ballistic. Page 69, theres a list you have to fill in. Heres what i wrote 10 years ago:

    list one: (negatives)

"I cant talk to people", "The religion fucked me up", "I never complete anything", "Women hate me", "I deliberately try to hurt people".

    List two: (positives)

    "I cant think of any".

Hey bro... I think I made light years of progress since then!!

I remember now, (its been a while) I decided to emulate the example of Muhammad Ali. It dawned on me that Ali succeeded because he was constantly talking to himself, and others, about his success. He was picturing what was going to happen and reinforcing it with language. And with body actions. He engaged all senses, audio, visual, kinesthetic in manufacturing his reality. I started making lists of things that i wanted to happen and then dialoguing, aloud, as if they had already happened. Picturing them, and going thru the physical motions involved. I did this every day for a set period of time. IT WORKS DUDE!!!

    added.

Now as I went thru these reality manufacturing games I became aware of negative and positive feelings or reactions I was having. Using reframing I minimized the negatives with visualization, and enhanced the positives with visualization and kinesthetic anchoring. Anyway, Ive said enuff...

All very interesting refiners, I'll let you know what I think when I've finished the book.

The other book I got was the Frankl book. I must say it was an interesting experiment to ask for reading suggestions without stating my specific interests. I got two of the most interesting books I could possibly find.
