Several weeks ago I asked a lot of you here about the involvement with the UN. You were really helpful in your replies. Thank you.

I approached an Elder who I know is "up" on that sort of thing and guess what... he had no idea!

His son works in Bethel so he took what info I had found : The original article in the guardian, (which can be found on their archive site) an email I recieved from the DPI confirming that the WBTS was a member for ten years, and also a print of the FAQ's about the DPI and it's involvement with the UN which quite plainly states that anyone associated with the DPI has to follow the UN charter and also promote the UN and it's work.

I waited.... and waited... and finally last week he came back to me and said that no one in Bethel that his son had asked knew anything about the information that came directly from the FAQ's. However he has said that if I bring more copies to him he'll sit down with me and we'll write a letter to Bethel including all the information and see what comes back. This particular Elder is a genuine man and I trust him. He even admitted that it certainly looks like they've been caught with their trousers down.

He started, at first, to say how the Un has many offshots (ie. UNESCO, WHO etc) but he must have seen my face because he admitted that evenso it all "comes under the UN umbrella still".

Well, it seems as if it still goes on... I'm just so interested to hear their reply... I know a lot of you have already written... spoke to them... but I wanted to see what the'ir reply would be to someone who is still attending meetings. (It was interesting when I phoned Bethel that I was asked if I'm a Sister. I said I was, but I wonder what reply I would have got if I'd said no... hum... might try that if I get time.)

I'm going to do all this Thursday, but having said that the particular elder I choose is rather hit and miss at attending meetings because his mother-in-law is very ill at the moment. Anyway, it should be interesting to see how long they take to reply and what they say in reply.

If anyone is interested I'll post their reply here.

    bosho:

be prepared, no matter what you put together for a letter, this is what you will get in response:

    word for word.

(the site may be down due to data transfer issues, try again later.)

do it anyways though, use this as a trump card.

i knew all about this when i wrote mine, and expected this response. more than anything else, pouring my heart out as a "member" for 40 years in my letter to krooklyn, and getting a canned, form letter in reply really upset me, and was the last straw.

    good luck, and be prepared.

check out my whole site when you can. http://www.geocities.com/plowbitch69

i have copied of my letters there, and it may help you.

Harold, can you put in a nutshell what their reply was? It may never show up online.

Let's see, what ideals of the UN could they have been promoting?

Well.....there's always that population control thing.

With their destruction of families and family values and their emotional and psychological destruction of children. Yeah, I would vote for that.

'Population control among the arrogant, self-righteous and rule-bound'.

    That's what I'd say.

I doubt they'd tell you that in a letter however. ;-)

to write to them will have the same efforts as the following example:

you ask your spouse: darling how late is it?

and she replies: honey, I like your car.

understood? They dont want to be asked as the have the trousers down.

and all the questions regarding UN come only from the apostates. thats the meaning of the hardliners.

vaya con dios hermano - de donde tu eres?

Yes, I guess we have all had the standard reply form letter. In my case it came from London although I wrote to Brooklyn

I have previously posted, that when I wrote again to query it the sent me a very curt letter saying they had nothing more to add, "perhaps I should read it again."

I am still awaiting a reply to my letter re. the Rand Cam shares issue

    Hello Bosho

We sent our letter of strong disapproval to the London Bethell a few weeks ago re: the UN, paedophilia, 607bce prophecy, but we think that they are pleading the fifth amendment !

We had already brought up the subject with four elders in our congregation, this was many weeks ago now, but we have had no response. Had we joined the YMCA they would have been knocking on our door right away.

We await your next post with interest.

Everything comes to those who wait and WAIT and WAIT. (so they say!)

"When we realized this, we immediately withdrew our registration. We are grateful that this matter was brought to our attention."

Since we know that it was dreaded, frothing apostates, followed by Mr. Bates of the Guardian (the latter having been vilified by the WT PR machine as biased and innacurate, and the former long considered under the direct control of Satan and his deemunz) that brought this to their attention, am I correct in reading that the society is actually thanking apostates for pointing out the fact that they were whoring with the Wild Beast?

    Hmmm

Yes, Hmmmm, that's exactly the feeling I got, that they, oddly enough, are thanking THOSE WHO BROUGHT IT TO THEIR ATTENTION, and we know who "those people are"!

However, let me get this straight: The WTS is saying the UN CHANGED their requirements recently, blah blah. But didn't the UN send some of you guys PROOF that nothing was ever changed regarding requirements, and that at NO TIME was membership as an NGO required in order to use the UN Library?

If so, what they wrote above is just another CYA bold-faced-lie.

And, btw, Zev, thanks mucho for embedding that original letter here. Nice! Veeeery Nice! -- I used to know a JW girl who had handwriting JUST LIKE that WTS signature! I still have some of her handwriting on papers I have. If I had a scanner, I'd put it up here just for comparison's sake.
