    Derek....

EXACTLY dude. That's just what I did.

Mike your comment reminded me. When I was about 15 there was an elder who brought his 'bible student' to the meeting. One of the pictures in the WT study was of the earth...the bad 'outer layer' was being peeled off like an orange skin by a huge Jehovah sword. (whateva) Anyhow, this dude (who was not all there mentally, what a coincidence) saw that picture and started laughing out loud.

A la Jim Carry 'laugh out loud.' He was laughing so hard the whole cong. started laughing. The elders asked him to go in back and laugh, but he just kept sitting there. It was so disruptive, and exciting!!!!! He finally left the KH still laughing, and we never saw him again.

Maybe he wasn't as mentally disabled as we thought, eh?

I **grumble***at both of them. Although, the Awake did have more interesting articles. But HOW I was told to study them: Read once, read questions, find answers, underline answers with highlighter. I Liked looking at some of the pic's in both though.

AWAKE has my vote. We were told reading the information printed in AWAKE is just as good as a college education. Be sure to put that on your resume next time you go looking for a job that requires a college degree.

I read them like I read newspapers, and that's not often. I'll read them both. The WT is about the spiritual world while the Awake reports on the real world, I think?

I always looked forward to the latest issue of the Watchtower, hoping there would be some"new light".When I finally realized that "new light"was in fact just something made up to cover their @$$e$ for mistaken "old light" I quit reading it altogether.I never found the Awake! very interesting.Who cares about the monarch butterfly's migratory pattern?

I used to avidly read the Watchtower to find out which blood products were / were not allowed that week. Heaven forbid if I didn't keep up with it and took the wrong blood product at the wrong time! What wonderful provisions from Jehovah!

The Watchtower was pretty much a reworded rehash of the same stuff over and over, and I figured that anything pertinent would be covered in the Watchtower Study, so I never read it....although I DID feel guilty for not reading it.

The AWAKE! was more interesting, but it didn't really go into depth about any of the subjects. I'd read most of it, and then I'd get pissed off about the brothers in Bethel who were allowed to read the actual articles and books from which they gleaned their little synopses. I would be "good" and not read the original articles, but I always longed to do so.
