Congratulations rollercoaster!
Wherever and whenever you decide to have the wedding I hope it all goes well and you have a lovely day.
The only people that really need to be there are the pair of you (and I guess someone to say "do you?")!

Rollercoaster,
I would like to send you an email card. If you email me, I promise not to devulge your address.
Yeah, like Carmel says, I don't think Jehoagie cares that you new hubby-to-be is not a Johoba's Schmitness.

hey rollercoaster,
I'm in South Carolina - and I will drag my husband (in proper attire) with me!
In fact, we'll all bring our own champagne and/or beer - keep your expense down to the devil's food cake with marzipane fruit.
If you've got your husband, you've got the marriage. Think about some of the weddings you've heard of done the traditional way - and the divorce a year later. The wedding's a great party - but even that doesn't always go well.
I got married in Los Vegas at the Little Red Chapel for $35. and my husband & I were the only sober people there (but not for long). We'd known each other for 3 weeks, and he'd never seen my 3 kids (knew about them however). 24 hour honeymoon in bed - then each of us flew back to our home states to tell our families. We did, actually began to live together 3 mos. later - and 20 yrs later - still like each other - occasionally.
You and your mutual love are the most important ingredients. Enjoy the exclusiveness of it and have a wonderful honeymoon with all the money you saved not feeding a group of relatives!

WOW!!!
If I were rich;
I would send everyone of you a plane ticket to Seattle, Washington. (round trip of course)
I would have a feast for the wedding dinner
I would take everyone to Fiji for the wedding rehearsal
I would send everyone home right after the wedding with lots of gifts
Since I'm not rich;
I will send evryone an E-mail with our wedding picture
I will eat lots of food for you
I will think of everybody on my way to Fiji
I will have a variety of flowers to represent the variety of friends I have here
I will be thankful for the rest of my life for meeting such wonderful honest people.
Just to let you know, when I finally made the decision to marry, I felt like I had made the right dedision. And I still feel that way. All of you have given me the confirmation I need. We are both older (over 40) so I think we have the maturity for the road ahead. And since we do love each other very much, we will be fine.
I want to know more about all of you , and stay in touch for a very long time.
Love, RC
Welcome to the over forty club Roller Coaster!!! Don't mourn that your family won't be at your wedding. Thinker and I chose not to tell anyone, probably for the same reasons your family won't be there.
June 30, 2000, was the most wonderful day of my life!!! Up until all the wonderful days that have followed. I am so happy that some days I would like to scream it from the roof tops!!! Plan something really special for just the two of you that day.
We got married, came home and fed each other fruit and cheese and good wine. Then went out to a beautiful French resturaunt that evening!!!! (there was some in between parts, but Mommy gets embarrassed, so I will refrain) Then we went on our honeymoon.
Good Luck. We would come too!!!! If you would have us.

Dear RC,
CoNgRaTuLaTiONs:
I've got such a BIG, SILLY, SMILE
on my face - reading all the congratulatory posts of the others and your responses. I'm so, so happy for you.
I posted this thought on another thread but I think it's worth repeating:
I truly feel men/women who marry ex or active JW's are extra special people. Think about it, they would have to be to put up with all the demands the Borg makes on its members...while they sit by loyally because of their love for a person.
So, dear friend, while everything you said above is much appreciated - don't you dare think of us while flying off to Fiji - no, no, instead of being the ever so responsible woman that I know you are - act like a love-struck teenager!:):):):)
Ah, again, I am soooo happy for you.
(And, want the scoop when you get back from your honeymoon! HaHa.)
(((((((Hugs to you and that fine man of yours)))))). Love ya, Zazu
Yes, I would come. I'm in Florida, if that's anywhere close I'll be there in the flesh. If it's too far away I will be there in spirit and will drink a toast to you and your husband. BTW, weddings are over-rated. Enjoy the honeymoon and the new life as a married couple, that is the real joy.
Let's meet soon for coffee. I'd be honored to attend your wedding.
Look for mail sometime today.
