There is only so much that you can know about a person thru e-mails and phone calls. The best way to get to know someone is one on one. These are some of the things that you will not know from IM or online chat alone--until you meet them in person and start to really know them...
- How they react to everyday stress
- What makes them loose their temper
- Is their EX a total intrusive WACKO
- Do they have good personal hygiene
- How do they drive... calm, reckless etc...
- What they look like in daylight, unshaven
- Their everyday compulsions, TV habits or other online "relationships"
- How they handle financial matters; carefully or extravagant beyond their means
- Do they have good manners
- And of course...is there chemistry between you two that can stand the test of time
