Wow.
When I was a little girl my mother had one of those cards. She used to show it at the door when ever anyone challenged her about being on their property or why she was going door to door.

They use to... I can't help but think that they stopped using them because of liability reasons. Now publishers no longer refer to themselves as reps of the cong or org. They are now just "volunteers", "bible students" or "Christians".
