I am so very sorry for the great loss you and your family are suffering, with the passing of your dad. It seems that it was a blessing that he did not come out of the surgery, but passed away, while he was still sleeping and dreaming. I wish my father had died in the same way, silently, peacefully.
May sweet and pleasant memories bring you peace and acceptance of these things we cannot change.
As I've said before, we just never know what affect the things we say on here will have with another individual. I did not realize your father was so ill. And, yet, he was on this forum with us.
Thank you for letting us know what happened.

My deepest sympathies to your family Matthew. I chatted many times with your father in the chat room and had absolutely no idea he was ill, what a very brave man. I do wish I had known more about him and especially that he was ill. Maybe I could have at least offered him some comfort, it makes me feel very sad that he was so sick.
Craig (ona) and I talked in great length on the phone after he saw this post....he was very touched by the fact that your father had concern for him and if he had only known the severity of his illness he surely would have shown more concern for your father. The thought came to us that maybe your father just wanted to be "one of the guys" and hang out in chat without thinking of his illness....sorta took his mind off it and in that case it was an extream pleasure to have been a part of making him feel a bit better. All I can say is what a guy, and what a huge loss for you and your Mom.
