Isn't there a "Saturn Club" where every year Saturn owners across the states get together and have a pic-nic ...or something?

I heard that from a Saturn owner.

I'm definately not gay, but I want to buy a Saturn Vue. I test drove the 4 cyl dohc 2.2 with the VTi transmission the other day. The thing gets up and boogies! That VTi transmission is cool! Doesn't shift, just hauls ass!

    TR,

If you want a sports car, buy a sports car- not an econo car with a hamster motor.

It says that the majority of saturn owners are women.

    likely true.

Of the men, the majority of them are either gay or married and their wives picked the car.

not likely true. No big deal, but as a pyschology, the discussion goes way deeper than the above. Tell me what your therapist thinks about it? If you don't have a therapist tell me what the 19 year old street butch boy you have anonymous sex with in the back of your 4wd Ford Excursion with the "F*** Mother Earth in the A** (FMEA)" 6.8 liter triton V-10 package thinks about it? Oh wait, only soccer moms drive those.

LOL, I'm just kiddin' with ya. But if there is anything we learned in our time working for the WaterTower Backhoe & Tractor Society, it's "examine motives".

Heh, if you examine my motive for giving you a hard time, you'd find that I am just struggling to make sense of the period in my life where I sold a used but solid RangeRover and bought and drove a Mazda mpv minivan for 3 years or so. God I was a pussy. I can joke about the towing package turning it into a babe magnet, but the poles were opposite on the magnets.

I can say with some authority that there's nothing wrong with a Saturn.

Don't perpetuate some "image" here folks. "Bandit" drove a Trans Am and the Duke boys drove a Charger, but today they'd probably be driving Integras and Supras. Would you have imagined 10 years ago that those cars would someday be "cool"? Besides, it ain't the car it's the driver.

    I beg to differ here.

Every time I take my LS 2000 in for the oil change, there are numerous gentlemen waiting for "their cars as well". They are young and older, and a general cross section of the population. I can assure you, they are not gay. (They might just be very happy they have a great car!) I believe you are wrong to say that only WOMEN drive Saturns, but I take that as a compliment. If more women do drive Saturns than men, it just means they are very smart and intelligent and know a good product when they see it. Women do their homework. They don't just look at the "package", they check to see what's "in" the package. When my husband saw first hand, the way my car handled, and how efficient it was, it was only a matter of time before he got his own.

I've owned a Saturn since 1994, and have had four different cars altogether, finally trading up to the bigger car. In 1998, my hubby traded his truck in to get the economical and efficient plain model. We both get excellent mileage and comfort from our vehicles. They are attractive and safe. No hastles either. Neither of us have had any car concerns other than getting the oil changed and the cars inspected. We go in for the oil changes and maintenance, and are treated very nicely by everyone. They are a wonderful group of people in charge.

Also, and very importantly, shortly after hubby got his brand new car, we were rear-ended by a speeding car, while we were at a dead stop at a traffic signal. We were very lucky. The Saturn took the rear impact without harming us physically. The other new car was not as fortunate. The impact tore the whole front end up. Saturns are safe!

    A Happy Saturn Owner,

    Sentinel
