    I was raised a JW.

DF'd at 19 - got reinstated 6 months later (thought it was my only option...armageddon and all)

DF'd again at 24 - knew I didn't want to go back but didn't know what else to do.

35 yrs old - started attending a non-denominational church - learned a lot of things I NEVER knew about God and found out what I did "know" wasn't necessarily right.

35 yrs old - found this site. Helped me tremendously - learning about the false prophecies, UN scandal, etc helped me to let go of the guilt and fear of questioning the "society". That helped me to open up my mind to learn more about the bible. I was baptised last fall as a Christian (no denomination).

I'll be 37 in 2 months. My how time flies............

Hi: I was brainwashed from age 12 until age 35. I've been unraveling my twisted teachings since then. I am 41 now and finally 100% free in Christ!

I'm 61, think like 38 and behave like 18, how's that? I'm a very active person in sports and construction work.

i'm 24, was raised a dub, baptized at 18 because i was so sick of my mom bugging me about it, figured i might as well just get it over with. left when i was 22, neither da'd or df'd--just faded. started posting on this in june after my sister found it.

p.s. desertflower.....i know it's not quite the same, but some of us out here are missing parents/grandparents. sometimes the 'family' that you choose can really make you happy too. ((((((((desertflower))))))))

I was df at age 19. I'm now 51. I had no interest in anything JW related, just glad to be done with them. Last year my older sister who is inactive had made mention of her doubts, and I took it upon myself to do some research for her. I've been hooked on these type forums ever since.

Here, too, I'm so very happy when I read of the younger one's leaving the borg by whatever means. I wasted many years after the fact in mental and emotional turmoil. I have absolutely no contact with any of my JW family, and like it that way. I've found real freedom.

Age 8, parents converted, screamed blue murder, hated the meetings.

Age 12, totally brainwashed, got baptised at 1958 Yankee stadium assembly.

Age 20, very unhappy, accepted not doing enough for Jehovah, started pioneering, became unhappier still.

Age 21, put on reproof for loving my neighbour.

Age 22, married someone else, disaster.

Age 25, suddenly realised that I didn't believe a word of it, took up gambling, fornicating and supporting Portsmouth Football Club. Got divorced. Got disfellowshipped for talking to people who were disfellowshipped.

Age 27, met nice lady, gave up fornicating.

Age 56, still with nice lady, still not fornicating, traumatised by Pompey being beat by Norwich. Oh yeah, I'm quite content with the way that I am now.

    Englishman.
