planning a "tropical vacation".....

    "Filthy" (a.k.a. husband, Jim) and I are planning on getting away to some sort of tropical island soon and I am getting overwhelmed with all the different places to go! I am in charge of planning, he is in charge of just showing up! We went to Ochos Rios, Jamaica in 1999 and stayed at the Jamaica Grande (all-inclusive) and absolutely loved it! I want to plan another all-inclusive vacation. Just looking for personal "reviews" from those of you that have gone to such resorts and what you would recommend (and what you wouldn't).

    Ohhhh.......I am so excited!

    Ah, you guys aren't much help! LOL......maybe I can see about "sneaking" you in our luggage!

    When Jim proposed to me, we talked about being this was our second marriage for both of us-we wanted a "quiet" ceremony. We decided on the beach (barefoot) at sunset in Jamaica. It was the most wonderful, stressfree wedding! I just loved it.....

    I went to the same place for my Honeymoon in 1991 but it was not called the Grand at the time and revisited it on a cruise last year in August for our tenth annivesary and I liked it but still have this thing about Jamaica. I just went to the Dominican Punta Cana in April for an all inclusive week at the Riu Bamboo it has 5 or six resorts you can choose from to stay at within walking distance of each other and is all enclosed in so ther are no people to bother you (locals) and you can use the facilities at all of them. Right beside it is another resort which I heard was excellent as well. I thought the food was excellent and the drinks were awesome as well, the only thing I didn`t like was the beer it tasted like a tin can and you only have one choice of beer there. I would go back in a heart beat!!! If I find the link on the computer i will post it for ya.

    scoot, you might also want to check out Isla Mujeres, which is offshore from Cancun. Cheap hotels and nude beaches cannot be beat.

    ((((((((beans)))))))).........I was hoping someone would mention something about Punta Cana. In my "interent searching" I have run across quite a few specials for there but am not familiar with that area at all! I am going to sit and take a look at the links you provided-thanks!

    LOL........if that was your only complaint, that is good! The taste of beer isn't a big concern of mine!
