"R" rated movies. That killed me. I read a lot of books, and invariably, when a book was made into a movie, it would be "R".
I watched one of them on a free Showtime weekend, when my husband was gone to work at Bethel for two weeks (shame shame). I taped it, because it was on during the night. When I watched it secretly, after my son went to school, I couldn't figure out WHY it was rated "R". Should have been PG13. No bad language, no nudity, no violence.
After that, I would wait for them to come out on video, and rent them. Hubby approved too. Then I found out my girlfriend and her elder husband had been doing that for years. You can't be seen at one, but renting is okay.
Mulan we missed a lot of good movies. I remember going to see Titanic with a group of witnesses. Some elders and wannabe elders in the group. When Leo climbed in that buggy and had his way with the rich girl, they all stood up and walked out. Local needs talk two weeks later directed at those of us who stayed.
I was having tattoo urges then. Finally got one a couple of weeks ago.
I can't say that I ever consciously wanted to break rules, it just seemed to come natural.
A Guest, I enjoyed your "real" post.
I engaged in "multilation" (their understanding of mulitation). I had the sterilization operation even though it was not allowed. I just did it and didn't tell anyone cept my husband and he was an MS. I was 28 and I'd had two kids and I didn't want any more, no matter what.
I kept all the other 1,300,000 commandments though.

I knew quite a few men and women that "got fixed" while the WT. said it was somewhat OK....Now, it's a no-no.
I pretty much did what I wanted and didn't tell anyone - except for sex.
Marilyn,
I kept all the other 1,300,000 commandments though.
LOL. At first read I thought, boy you must be tired. Then I read it again. LOL Boy Marilyn, you must have energy to burn the sun.

I forgot about the R rated movies. I started seeing R rated movies when I was 18. That was the stupidest rule.
