Hey, BX as an sexually abused child who would like her abuser to admit it and say they're sorry, I'm not holding my breath.

Life is precious; don't waste it on trying to get some sociopathic group of men to admit they were wrong or to prove it the world at large (unless it is to protect them).

Liars are everywhere; when I can I set them up for a fall.

My eyes are open now and if I can I help individuals who are looking for help.

Don't cast your pearls before swine.

Quote:...We have "invested" years of our lives, and not a small part of our personal fortunes, in this institution. We effectively bought "Watchtower stock".

    Hi B.E.

Whether the Borg lied or not.........the stock you bought and time you spent, were understood at the time by you, that you would recieve nothing more than a possable convert. You were never told you would recieve monatary value for your contributions.

I do see your point but see no case here.

you do make some excellent points BE, but I agree with everybody else, without evidence of being "scammed," most likely you'd be wasting even more of your time on the WTS by pursuing a suit, at least on your own. It would be a different story if you had some type of physical evidence, for instance correspondence between WTS leaders, in which they disclosed that they were aware of "untruths" they were teaching, but their action of lying was allowing them to extort money, etc. from members. And you could prove that you'd been harmed by their action of lying. Say they extorted your bank account, house, etc. Without some evidence of harm though, well maybe Johnny Cochran could pull it off ! LOL ...Its as if organized religion is a legal racket. Look at some of these t.v. evangelizers, the people who can least afford it, send the money in.

On the other hand, there is strength in numbers......

What about when they say things like, "WE own this kingdom hall, assembly hall, etc. etc." I remember hearing that when I was studying. It was compared with other religions where they said the organization owned the property. This was fraudulent in my opinion. When we gave our $100 per publisher in my household to renovate the Kingdom Hall I was under the impression it was MY building. I owned it.

    Hello,

'Concerned Lawyer' stated that the Hare Krishna lawsuit was NOT a class action suit, even though it is described as such by the media. She also noted that a class action suit would be near impossible to sustain over the crime of child-abuse unless the children were molested together in one action.

H_S is absolutely bang on in his post.

Each apparent action would be separate and there would be NO class action.

Thanks for making that point as it is a very important point to make to ALL who are thinking of going down this serious road.

I'm having a mental moment here...forgot to say this, so I'll add my last thought and move on....

I want to prove that they lied to me, and I hence "invested" in the WTS my funds, my time and resources. I was misled.

I know that I "invested" heavily in stock and recently lost a big chunk of my investment. I was definitely misled, but would have a difficult time providing evidence that my financial advisor should be held responsible. But if you have proof that they intentionally lied to you, along with proof that you were "harmed" by their intentional lies, maybe you should consult a lawyer.

    BX,

I wish you success. You may be on to something big!!! Lots of hard work.

I have an Idea for a poster sign:

    Jehovah's Witnesses Must

Believe All of the Watchtower lies!

Do you think holding up this sign by a Kingdom hall that has a lot of traffic going buy would help some get out?

I don't think it would be difficult to show that the WTS lied and continues to lie. Using the Watchtower publications, I could prove that they distorted the truth and yes LIED.

In so doing, they caused me to believe things that were false, things that in turn caused me to take action that I would not have otherwise have taken.

If, for instance, I knew the truth about Russell and Maria, then I would never have entertained the notion of them being "God's organization". Hence, I would not have sacrificed my time spreading those same lies to yet other people.

If I had known of their failed false prophecies, then I wouldn't have wasted years of my life spreading another false prophecy about 1994 (generation 1914+80)

For my sacrifice, I was promised everlasting life. They cannot deliver in their "bankrupt" state. Hence, I was offered a return on investment that they could not make good on.

I was provided false and misleading information which casued me to invest my resources chasing a return that they offered, yes they have, yet cannot provide.

Mr. Hughe's wording in the "Worldwide Mass Class Action Suit Against WTS" thread may have been confusing, but both his post, through Randy, and the link to his site on that thread,

    http://www.watchtower-victims.org/

most certainly speak about a class action suit as well as mass individual suits. The class action is the suit that would require interested persons to submit $100.00. And the reasons to be part of that action, unlike the cases being handled by LoveNorris, vary from being shunned to being harmed by the WTS, etc. (The list of reasons is at the site.)

LoveNorris is not handling the class action suit, but individual suits which are limited to child abuse or wrongful death actions. She is also handling these on a contingency basis, so there would be no need in paying $100.00.

I believe what is confusing is putting "mass" in front of class action and then discussing both mass individual suits and class actions. But according to the link, there is definitely a class action being pondered. If this is not case, hopefully the class action references will be deleted from the website. Simon says work is being done on the site, so hopefully Mr. Hughes can catch his breath and do some fine-tuning. I give Mr. Hughes enormous credit for putting together this website and attempting such a proposition when he has been through such a devastating event.
