Thank you all for your insite on this matter. Mama emailed me today and they are taking steps in the right direction to hopefully get this situation handled. I will let her give the details. Thank you all again. I was very concerned when she posted this to me on "My story" yesterday. Thank you again.

I agree with Scooter, this child definately needs an advocate ( ie a guardian different states have different names for them). An attorney also who practices family law can help out greatly to protect the child's rights. If Mama cannot take the young woman then she can be placed in a safe place, ( Group Home, Foster Care, or another relative ) until things can be worked out for her benefit. If the state still insists on returning her to the household then she will need a definate plan and safe "house" to go to. I truely do hope the state doesn't return her to the household.

It also sounds like there is a HIGH need of counseling for the mother and it should be made manditory for her to attend sessions.It is apparent she herself has anger control issues along with a plethora of other deep seated problems.

But right now, what matters most is the child's safety and for her not to be returned into a dangerous situation. Once she is safe and settled then other issues stemming from what she has gone through can be addressed. An I do agree that media will only complicate the issue right now. An add more problems to a already difficult situation.

Believe me media has their place and uses. But this is not the time for them to come in on this.

This is some awful stuff. I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this.

My suggestion to you on this part of it would be to get a restraining order. If the police were contacted, there is a record of it and you can use that in court. By filling for a restraining order you will be establishing for the courts some evidence that this man has threatened your husband and that may help somewhere along the line as well.

I agree with all of scootergirl's sage advice on this too. Wish you the best with all of this mama!

Thank you so much for your caring thoughts. Thanks especially to Jesika and Valis, they have been so helpful. This has been a really hard time for my family, and it is nice to know that someone cares.

Here is the update:

This is my sister in law by the way, sorry for the confusion. The mother has been in and out of childrens services for years. We have actually had custody of the girl before and her sister. Her father has been in prison for 14 years for murder(manslaughter actually) and he used to beat the mother and her sons, which one of them is my husband. We did file a police report on him and a restraining order on him. We would gladly take custody of her again but they will not allow it yet for her safety and ours.

I spoke with her case worker and with a juvy officer today, and things are looking very good for the father to be prossicuted. If he is, most likely he will be sent back to prison. The only reason he got out early is because the prison he was in was closed down, and he was an old timer, so he got early release.

The good news is, she is in protective custody, and if he goes back to prison, we will get full custody of her. I told the child case worker today, if she was put back into the home, i would take it to the state legislators and hold them personally responsible. he is a very dangerous man.

Thank you again for all your support, it really means alot. I also hope the mother gets help for herself also, because to allow a man like this back in your home after abusing you and all your children, she really needs professioal help.

Restraining orders don't stop MURDERERS!! That is just a piece of paper to them.

You are playing with deadly fire ad with her life. I am glad that you got to make some connections. Does your sister-in-law have an advocate set up yet? I would strongly suggest her having one. Good for you that you are keeping your head and wits about you. Keep calm.......remember, THINK. THINK clearly and act confidently. There is no room for errors based on emotion know. Your main concern is her safety and yours.
