  My dad and his lovely wife (both not JWs) moved to Maryland about (6) weeks ago. My dad is still here in Pennsylvania due to his employment circumstance. However, today is his last day at his job. He officially will be in Maryland TONIGHT (Friday, October 4th).

  I am following him down there and I will be spending the night at his house. Big deal, right?

  Well, it just so happens that they live in Silver Spring, Maryland (Montgomery County), where some sharpshooting NUT is going around killing folks at random. The killer or killers are still on the loose.

  Two things: 1) Keep me in your thoughts and hope I don't get shot and 2) Does anyone live in this area and would like to hook up with me? I'll be there tonight and tomorrow.

  Here's the info about the killings:

  Police offered these details of the Thursday attacks:

• At 7:41 a.m., police were called to a crime scene and found James L. Buchanan, a 39-year-old landscaper identified as the son of a retired Montgomery County police officer, who had been shot while mowing at Fitzgerald Auto Mall, a car dealership on Rockville Pike.

• At 8:12 a.m., a caller reported that Prenkumar Walekar, 54, a taxi driver from Olney, Maryland, was shot and killed while he was filling his minivan with gas at a Mobil station in Aspen Hill.

• At 8:37 a.m., Sarah Ramos, 34, of Silver Spring, was killed at a post office near Leisure World, a retirement community on International Drive. It was in that shooting that a witness told police that two people in a white van with black lettering on its side and a damaged rear lift sped away from the parking lot immediately afterward.

• At 9:58 a.m., Lori Ann Lewis-Rivera, 25, of Silver Spring was reported shot in a Shell gas station on Connecticut Avenue in Kensington, where she was vacuuming her late-model purple Plymouth Voyager van.
