    UnD,

Your mixing a whole bag of issues, that have nothing to do with this particular letter.

This letter will be percieved as spiteful and mean spirited. Bill know's full well that his letter will be ignored, and that not one of the GB will show for the 'mock trial'.

Calling them out, is kinda like the gunslinger standing in front of the saloon, taunting for his rival to meet him in the streets. Bill knows full well they wont strap thier guns on and fight. Especially if they percieve he has no live ammo.

Now if this letter was to notify them that real (non-religious) charges are being filed, with the proper governmental authorities, it would make them stand at attention. The attorney's scurrying to get ready for the fight.

Bill is df'd, he is dead to them. He is unfit to even talk to. They view him as representing the devil himself. To ask them to deal on a spiritual level, under the guise of thier own sick policies. is beyond absurd, its a joke, and thats how they will percieve it.

Bill cannot call on the name of Jehovah, they believe that any df'd person is ignored by thier god. Prayer to God after having been judged unworthy by them, is useless....Jehovah does not listen to Bill Bowen. Sad but thats what they believe.

So this letter, and the distribution to media imo could very well dampen and even ruin much of the good work Silentlambs has accomplished.

It may in fact cause both the media and judicial bodies to give second thoughts, as regards to supporting the cause. That would hinder or outright defeat all the efforts and work to date.

    DannyBear,

Thanks for clarifying and I understand your concerns.

However, I don't agree that this will hurt the silentlambs cause at all.

    Also, you said:

This letter will be percieved as spiteful and mean spirited.

Can you show me which part(s) of the Letter would be taken that way?

When I read the Letter, it didn't seem that "mean spirited" to me.

And I don't think Bill said he was sending this Letter to "the Media", did he?

I love the letter. It's exactly what the GB need. Somewhere, sometime, some 'hovah will take this stuff seriously and do what needs to be done. It would be pretty damn stupid of the r&f to just assume that these accusations must be false by virtue of being a GB member. There has been precedent set for removing GB members.

    UnD,

Wt perception of his intent will be, here's a guy we df'd, he's not happy about it, now he wants to play games and conduct his own 'mock' (maybe literal...Bill has not really made this clear) judicial commitee hearing.

He simply can't do it, according to thier play book. He has no standing in the society anymore. Even if he got some stout hearted elder's in current good standing, once thier names were released, they would be df'd in absentee JUST FOR ASSOCIATING WITH BILL.

I have not checked the post, but I do believe Bill made clear his intentions to distribute this to the media. I will have to confirm that.

    Danny

Ps Here is Bill's statement as regards the release of this letter; *** As dated the letter went out today, a press release will follow shortly.***

I have been exiled from my country for not following the laws or rules. After I have been removed from my country I start an anti campaign to expose the leaders of my country as frauds.

Sitiing in exile I form an organization on the premise of aiding abuse victims of the government. I march outside the borders of the country. Then I draft a letter demanding that the rulers of the country submit to my counsel. I demand that they be brought before a judiciary that I will form.

Also consider that this country that I am exiled from is one of the smallest countries in the world. It is a passive nation. The do not battle with other countries though they may be outspoken about other countries.

I think this analogy missed something.

The reason for being kicked out of said counrty is for protesting specific illegal and inhumane practices of that government.

After having been exiled, the protest continues, but now in an international forum. Support is gathered from others who have been exiled and from those who have fled the country(refugees). Demands are made for the leaders of said government to be tried according to that governments' own laws.

The fact that this country is small and poses little to no threat to any other country has no bearing on the legitimacy or importance of the charges brought against the government. It may make it more difficult to get international attention. International diplomatic and economic pressure against the government become the goal as a means to effect change. And so, a need for publicity.

(This last part reminds me of South Africa.)

Now, I don't know if Bills' letter is pure genius or a counter-productive FUBAR. Time will tell. But he did say:

The letter is not a joke, I do not play games. I have followed theocratic procedure since day one regarding this matter.

This indicates that this letter is part of an overall strategy, not an impetuous diatribe.

The abuse problem is not new. The awareness of the problem amongst the r/f and general public is new. So far, he has done very well for the silent lambs.

    Qr,

***This indicates that this letter is part of an overall strategy, not an impetuous diatribe.***

May I ask how you came to this conclusion? Based on a claim of handling matter's in a theocratic manner?

I hope you understand the word 'theocratic' as it applies to WTBS and thier interpretation of the word. They themselves are the theocrats, and only they can exercise theocratic strategy.

Every action Bill has taken since the inception of Silentlambs has been in direct violation of wt 'theocratic' policy.

    1. Use of the internet, to promote his message.

    2. Use of the media to pressure the 'faithful slave'.

    3. Silentlambs organization tied to apostate sites like this one, jwd.com

    4. Testifying against the organization in media and courts of law.

    5. The entire effort of Silentlambs is considered as turning on Jehovah and his congregation.

You have to clue me in on, how this strategy can be construed as 'theocratic' in the eye's of any jw.

    POSSIBLE BIG NEWS!

I was just going through some of Bill Bowen's Threads from last year, and I found an extremely interesting Thread I think you will all want to see:

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=4734&site=3&page=1

This Thread was started by Bill on April 25th 2001.

    Notice what Bill says:

    1. Ted Jaracz
    2. Daniel Sydlik
    3. Fred Franz
    4. Ewart Chitty
    5. Leo Greenlees

These men all have something in common, can you guess what it is?

    Interesting, eh?

    That is a good point.

But, I think Bill Bowen is doing an excellent job of showing CURRENT Jehovah's Witnesses that it is TRULY the GOVERNING BODY that they are serving and following and NOT JEHOVAH AND JESUS CHRIST!

I'm in total agreement with DannyBear. Bill has taken the cause too personally, and thinks he has the power to call a judicial committee of the Governing Body.

The point is, Bill Bowen is disfellowshipped, and as such has absolutely no power in the Organisation.

At least the letter will cause the brothers in Bethel a bit of a laugh.

Too funny! By his last letter Bill Bowen sounds like a whacked out apostate out to take down the Governing Body!
