I noticed quite a few former elders commenting on the thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=37801&site=3&page=1 I thought it was amusing that about 20 percent of the bethelites in my department at Bethel have left the organization. We might also be surprised to see how many of the current posters are former elders. How about checking in and giving us some idea. Just YOH! so we know who you are for a tally. Since this thread is about former elders, I have a request:
Who of you remembers the Society's orally given instructions from about 1990 (give or take a year or so) to the effect that if secular authorities come around demanding confidential files, "they will not find them"? In other words, the Society said, in so many words, for elders to hide information from the authorities.
Any information would be appreciated.
