I can't believe I am still up at 3:45 am. I guess my poor hubby will be getting the little ones their breakfast, hopefully not lunch too. LOL.

I am in complete agreement with the list of states. I did a search once and it took so long so, I admit I gave up. boo for me, I know. There is an election coming up in Nov. right? That's in our favor!

I am terribly concerned about future cases too. I have little neices and nephews who are dragged to meetings. My heart is heavy with the realization that my elderly parents are in bondage to a religion that has such an allegation against them. I have known for several years that the wt was false but I am concerned for my parents. My dad is very ill now and well......I'm gonna stop now. You know where I was going?

This whole thing is surreal and upsetting to say the least. I'm not proofin this so, excuse typos.

ps (ty) I hace to admit that once I completed this thread, I felt remorse for some reason. I wished I could delete it. Odd? maybe. I just feel better forgiving people. This needs to stop for the kids though. I just felt uneasy with bringing the names to the forefront afterwards. I hate accusing. I don't understand me, sometimes. Dj

justice lies in the changing of the laws. Truth lies in realizing that there are many more victims out there at the hand of religion that need help too.

Yes! I've said this before.
I totally agree with this logic.

Go the legal route. Not the emotional attack route.

Fight smarter, not harder.

Find out what the laws are in each state or province
then challenge the law itself through the appropriate channels.

Once the law is challenged and changed,
you will have a leg to stand on with the fight against WTS policies.

Once the law is changed, you will have the government and courts on your side.

I would not lend my name to a shouting match on the WTS front lawn.
I see it as futile.

I would however, lend support to challenging the governments laws about:
1) the disclosure of abuse to the proper authorities by those in religious positions
and
2) empowering the "authorities" to legally investigate infractions and enforce such laws.

You will find many more supporters if you approach this rationally and logically from a legal standpoint.

Changing (or creating) the laws themselves not only gives you a leg to stand on with the WTS, but with all religions. And perhaps even others in positions of "trust" with potential for misuse/abuse of that trust.

Find the flaw in the law. (or lawS) that are letting organizations, or borganizations as the case may be, get away with nondisclosure of such heinous crimes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the laws essentially protect the clergy for failing to report known abuse.
So why not challenge those laws until they obligate/empower the clergy, and others in positions or trust, to report known or suspected abuse just like the rest of the folks on that list are obligated to do.

I'd sign up fer that battle.

I'm klueless here. Are the silentlambs marches all held on WTS property? Or are they held at parliamant and legislative buildings?

Before having kids I had a legal background (paralegal) Although, I didn't handle criminal cases. I am certain that the statute of limitations is playing a large role here. I'm certain that that is the issue for many of the lambs. If they do not have criminal legal recourse then they only have grounds for civil suits and the burden of proof is much much less than criminal. The media is important because their role is imperative to waking up the world of this corruption within the towers. It may very well aide in causing current jw's to leave. So IMO, there is a role for media attention and civil litigation.

The laws must be changed for the children of the future. Hiding crimes under ecclesiastic? priveledge is insanity. It just carries on the sick cycle of abuse.

Please do not be assuming those "5" are "the 5" that the ladies are now accusing of pedophilia!

In fact, regarding Chitty, after his homosexuality became widely known he was quietly transferred from the Gov Body. There was no mention of his being a pedophile, although that might or might not be.

Greenlees, yes, he was also quietly transferred undisfellowshipped after it became widely known he was a pedophile - and he is now deceased.

Nor is it known if Sydlik ever molested a child, although it is heard that his wife had some manner of dalliance or affair with another man working the desk at Bethelite who was later transferred away.

Ted Jarasc has now definitely been alleged a child molestor by Pat Garza who stated before the press that this occurred about 40 years ago when Jarasc was a district overseer in Los Angeles.

As to Fred Franz, who is among the 5 mentioned on the other thread, he was noted, some have said, as being "odd" or "queer" in his actions in that sometimes, although mentally seeming sharp, he walked around Bethel in pyjamas and the like.

Did all those know of and abet the policy of covering up pedophilia and or other things that might cast Watchtower in a less than positive light? It definitely appears to be so, and therefore the Governing Body members now need to offer a rebuttal at the Judicial Committee hearing in Kentucky to which they have been invited to appear, or there are grounds such that people will assume the charges stand and the rank-and-file as well as media will be informed of this too and all the more so.

Again, your assumption that those 5 are the same Bill is now mentioning since the Pat Garza revelation is just that, an assumption. Time and the ladies who were molested will tell the rest of the story.

I just have a real hard time picturing the Gb ever even considering a JC w/ Bowen. It just seems plain silly to me to even entertain as a possibility!

There must be another reason for writing this letter, such as keeping a formal record of communication between the two parties for legalities.

The letter being sent to the press may also just serve as a notice that the Gb has been summoned. I doubt that the press cares about it now, but they may in the future if this thing ever comes to a head.

I'm not certain about the reference made about the Holiday Inn. It seemed a bit antagonistic and vengeful to me. It does however, serve as a reminder to the secretive nature surrounding this issue. They are clearly hiding by summoning Barbara and Bill to hotel rooms. The press may be able to make a point with this info. as well.

While I have total respect for this cause. I am confused by some of the tactics being used but I think that it will all come out in the wash. My best to Mr. Bowen.
