As many of you know, eyegirl and I are sisters. We also have a brother (no longer dub) who lives a few hours away from us. Today eye and I (love saying that) are making a road trip to our brother's to help celebrate his 30th birthday-this being the first party that all three of us will be at together celebrating one of our bdays.

This morning when I woke up I was overwhelmed w/feelings......something that we never got to do as kids, we get to do as adults. Granted, the kegger will be a big difference between child and adult birthday parties (LOL) but the fact is what a wonderful celebration to be involved in! Our parents tore us siblings apart for many many years, so events like this really are important to us. Just that we are together again and not under any rules (other than NO sleeping in the yard this time, eye!) makes my heart swell with feelings.

I was without my brother and sister for so many years-I had absolutely no idea just how strong sibling bonds can be. I love them both so much.

Now......I am off to pack my bags! Yahoo......see you guys on Monday!

I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!! the big beer mug is washed and ready to be filled. the gift is wrapped, ready for opening. i've got the extra booze sitting on the table, jello shots in the fridge i promise i won't be sleeping in the yard this time--just keep on eye on me scooter!

seriously though, i can't even believe how different things are than, say, 2 years ago. never in a million years would i have imaged spending so much time with you and randy (and actually have fun hanging out with him :p). i don't feel like i'm missing out anymore. makes me sad though, to think that dad is missing out on all of this too--i don't give a flying fig newton about mom. maybe we should kidnap him tonight and make him have a good time. we might be able to lure him in with promises of margaritas

i'll be sure to post some pics next week. just don't laugh if i/we are totally hammered..heeeheeehehehehehhehe

This is great news, even I am excited about it, wish I could take pictures! Seriously, your mom has lost three children, and she is the one really being shunned now ?? Have a good time and get those pics to us asap. Bill

Oh Shutterbug........YOU take pics? LOL.......I don't know! (just joking).........but you are exactly right. What went around came around. Mom had the upper hand for so many years by keeping us "kids" apart. Now that we are all adults (34,30 and 24) there is nothing NOTHING that she can do now! Part of me does feel sorry for our parents.....they miss out on so much joy in our lives. Weddings, grandbabies, their adult children.......what a senseless sacrifice.

(((((((Scooter and Eye)))))))) Happy Birthday to your brother! Have a great time!

That's how it is for me and my sis, too. She was never a jw and I shunned her for 30 years. I am soooo happy that we have reconnected. It's funny how we talk about growing up so much now. We become kids again when we are together. We get very silly. :D
