SYN...no I haven't licked any buffo vulgaris frogs lately..*L*...I have done the seeds from Jimson weed though...never again...you know when you hallucinate smoking cigars w/midgets, having conversations with them and eating food that wasn't there, locking yourself in the house for tow days and looking out the window in anticipation of "that bad thing"....its appropriate to never do that again...*LOL*

My girlfriend and I tried salvia a couple of times. Smoked it, chewed it, but neither of us really got much sensation, which is a shame 'cause I was expecting this Pink-Floyd-weird-out-of-body-experience trip. Maybe I just needed a higher concentration. It was kind of distasteful too, so I didn't care to do much of it.

I've heard it was available in blends, but haven't actually gone to my local head shop to lok. I have heard that the stupid DEA is looking in to scheduling it, though. Hummmmm. Guess I'll just sit back and read about other's experience's. In the olden days, I tried acid a few times, but didn't care for the after effect. Although I'm a firm believer in herbs, if one is cautioned to "not be alone" that would be a red flag for me...at least these days anyhow.

Good point though about communion with the Gods after ingesting these type "drugs" or herbs. Just one more reason, added to many, why I think the mystics didn't reach an exhalted state of mind through their own endeavors...herbs that induced such states of mind were more readily available.

But not to sound like some sort of goody, goody; which I'm not, I can still enjoy a puff on the peace pipe simply because it does alter my state of thinking. But do I rely upon it for some kind of "insight"? Not really. I think that one developes the ability to really 'hear' and 'see' without the use of any type of mind alterting substance, then maybe the whole person is onto something.

A good friend of mine wrote a book about his 30 year experience with the Magic Mushroom. "Big Red", "Soma", whatever the heck the official name is. His claim is that this mushroom is the way to God...however one defines such a force; although he wasn't into the popular Christian theology. He did however come to believe (through his use of the Soma) that the message is hidden within the pages of the Bible.

I have another long time acquaince that gives small doses of Soma to his sick children. Because it is known as a cure for many ails, I don't dispute that because if anything will kill ya fast, it's the constant peddeling of synthetic drugs produced by "doctors."

I might be inticed to try Mescaline again. I found that to be most peaceful and no "warning" about whether or not one should be alone. Nah. I'm just too old, so revert back to my first statement...let those younger and braver do the experiencing with mind alterting substances. Be it an herb or not.

Hey, I certainly don't "judge" those who try various substances. Age just does make a difference.

Lucid...I haven't ever tried any of the mixes...only the 5X and 10X extracts. The herbal mixes usually contain a bunch of crap that does nothing but give you a headache and a bad taste...at least the pure salvia sends you off even though it does give you a tinny taste afterwards..As well, you almost have to vaporize it or use a butane lighter w/a very hot flame to get the most out of a good hit.

Granny....its very potent when extracted and smoked and not really for the average experimentalist...I totally know what you mean about the peace pipe...its more like drinking beer and has little to do w/finding anything "spiritual"...just nice to have after straining the brain.

I've tried it, as one of the experiences I sought out after DA'ing myself. Just dried leaves, and it didn't do a thing. Either I'm a Salvia "hardhead" or I need to try the extract. It's on my list of things to do.

I'm a little suspicious of Comforter's stupidity. Not to many genuine idiots use the "germane" at all, let alone correctly and spelled properly.

Hey Valis! I posted about Salvia last year when I first tried it. It was like a pot high to me but stronger. Four tokes knocked my ass back on the couch like a freight train and I just laid there inside myself.

If anyone is curious I'd definitely say give it a try. Of course you should not use it with kids in the house nor should you drive while using it. But I don't have to tell y'all that now do I? Just one thing though. If a cop finds some on you, they're gonna bust you for pot. It looks and smells like pot. The smoke smells and tastes like pot (to me anyway). I wouldn't be suprised at all if salvia contains THC.

Personally I do hit the occasional doobie but mostly I stick with hydrocodone (lortab, vicodin, norco, etc.) Chase one down with a few beers and relax.
