Peanut butter on a Thomas English muffin...... pathetic
would onacruse and bikerchic please get a room? Are you following each other around the board or what?
Most of you had some good stuff for dinner. My husband is cooking up a batch of Texas chili right now. I know it's waaaaay too late for chili, it's for dinner tomorrow. I just have to whip up a batch of cornbread and we are good to go!
Double Edge, it's only pathetic if you don't like peanut butter.

Steak and fried tater's...mmmm mmmm good on the taste buds but I can hear my arteries clogging as I type.

Navajo Friend Bread
3 cups flour
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. powdered milk (optional)
1 to 2 cups very warm water
1 cup vegetable oil
In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients by hand. Add water to flour mixture, a little at a time and knead until dough is soft. If dough is sticky, more kneading is required. Cover and let dough rise for 20 minutes. In the meantime, heat the oil in a frying pan (skillet) until very, very hot.
When dough has risen, tear off a ball about 2 inches in diameter and pat it into a 10-inch round flat tortilla. (A rolling pin can be used to obtain the desired shape.) Carefully and gently, place the dough into the hot shortening. Allow the dough to cook until golden brown, then turn and cook the opposite side. Remove the bread from the hot shortening, and place into a bowl to cool slightly. Top with honey, powdered sugar, salt or cinnamon-sugar, or just serve plain.
