One of my friends asked me to see if I could find out what it says on Page 9 of the November 15, 2002 WT. If anyone has it, will you please post what it says?

My friend says someone keeps asking her if she has read it, and they don't get a sub. anymore. It possibly has to do with either associating with apostates, reproof, resigning as an elder............or removing of privileges. I know that is a broad category list, but thought you might need something to look for on the page.

    Thanks!

    Paragraph 2

Yes, the human body has many parts, or members, and each one supplies something needed. Not a single vein, muscle, or other body member is purposeless. Similarly, each member of the Christian congregation can contribute something to its spiritual health and beauty. (1 Corinthians 12:14-26) Although one member of the congregation should not feel superior to others, neither should anyone consider himself unimportant.--Romans 12:3.

    Paragraph 3

Like the interdependent members of the human body, Christians need one another. (Ephesians 4:25) Since they 'belong to one another,' there is truthful communication and full cooperation among members of spiritual Israel--"the body of the Christ." Yes, each one of them belongs to all the others. (Ephesians 4:11-13) Happily united with them are truthful, cooperative Christians having an earthly hope.

    Paragraph 4

Every year, thousands hoping to live in an earthly paradise are baptized. Other members of the congregation gladly help them to "press on to maturity." (Hebrews 6:1-3) This aid may involve answering Scriptural questions or providing practical assistance in the ministry. We can help new ones by setting a fine example through regular participation in Christian meetings. In times of distress, we can also offer encouragement or perhaps consolation. (1 Thessalonians 5:14,15) We should look for ways to assist others to "go on walking in the truth." (3 John 4) Whether we are young or old, have just begun walking in the truth or have walked in it for years, we can promote the spiritual welfare of fellow believers--and they do need us.

Thank you blondie. I don't know what they wanted them to read, because it all sounds pretty benign. Same old same old.

Here are the interesting parts I saw:

    Paragraph 2

...one member of the congregation should not feel superior to others...

    Paragraph 4

This aid may involve answering Scriptural questions or providing practical assistance in the ministry.

What about the appendix? Haven't doctors said they weren't needed? I must have been an appendix in my role as a jw.

Yes, those are interesting quotes, Undisfellowshipped.

Unfortunately, the reality is that JWs do feel superior to 1) all non-JWs, 2) certain groups within the congregation a) those with intact families feel superior to those from single parent or divided households b) elders' families feel superior to everyone else c) MS familes next d) pioneers feel superior to the publishers e) the men feel superior to the women f) the rich feel superior to the poor, etc., etc., etc.

As far as providing practical assistance in the ministry and answering scriptural questions, few if any bother especially when the person is already baptized and they can't count the time. The Pioneer Assist Program assigns a regular pioneer to a "weak" or new one supposedly to help them. No pioneer would do it if they weren't allowed to count their time. And don't ever think that an elder and/or congregation book study overseer sets up appointments to do this either.

    It is all lip service.

Matthew 15 8 " 'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.

    blondie,

I absolutely could not have said it any better.

I agree 110% with what you said.

Sometimes I cannot believe how much hypocrisy is in the Watchtower Society.

Sorry for the rant, Undisfellowshipped. I knew that you agreed with me. It's hard to believe more don't see it in the congregation. I just think they are made to feel "they" are the problem and they have the wrong attitude.

Someday it will be all behind me.
