My digital camera will be back from the hospital by this weekend - I was wondering if I might be able to get pics of the local WT grunts as they set off to harrass the likes of the stonewalling UncleBruce.

My question: do car groups always meet at the KH before leaving, or are there other meeting places? Is it up to individual car groups where they meet? If I front up on Saturday morn at the local KH (used by 4 congregations) am I likely to see any groups gathering in order to disperse the "Word of God" (tm)?

Stephanus, I think at least some still meet at the local KH. I drive by several during the week while I am working and there are usually cars there. Some have "days off" when nobody meets, unless they do at a home where a bookstudy is conducted.

I don't know how it works Down Under, but in the USA recently, the emphasis has been to meet as Bookstudy groups. This makes for serious inbreeding and boredom in cargroups as you tend to work with the same dull people each Saturday.

At least one or more bookstudy groups meet at the Kingdom hall. Also, there was a "rotation" whereby on the first or fourth Saturday of the month, all groups met together in one location so as to give "encouragement." Meaning, I suppose, you would not go completely insane working with Brother Smelly and Sister Can't-take-a-break.

If you show up between 9:30 and 10:00am on a Saturday, you will most likely find a group meeting for Field Torture.

    G'day Steph

In the old days back when I was a dubbie, we used to meet at the assigned book study groups on a Saturday. But on Sunday and during week days we met at the Kingdom Hall.

Your best bet is to find out where the nearest bookstudy is in your area, and park up outside it on a Saturday morning. I reckon you'd look pretty creepy though Stephanus...anyone with a camera taking photos of their cult worshippers is going to creep them out, so watch out you don't get harassed and poked in the eye by an elderly sister with a walking stick.

    LOL@Stephanus!

Steph...congrats on being so motivated to gather together with others of like faith!

As I recall, over the last 10 years, the official WTS directive is that all book studies should have their local Meeting for Field Service. But, in the last cong I attended, the elders over-ruled and decided to keep everybody coming to the KH (idea being: larger group=more encouragement).

"Brother Smelly and Sister Can't-take-a-break." LMAO wasa

Big problem Beck, I don't drive. So I can't hide in a car anyway. I'll be out in the open, probably looking bloody obvious as I'm taking pictures. Might get away with it if people from the Austinmer and Wollongong congs are meeting, but the Bulli and Corrimal congs both contain people who'd recognise me. As for book studies, I know the meeting places of two, but again, me standing around taking pics might get me noticed. I may have to use the patented sneaky feature on my cam - you can swivel the LCD screen so that you can line up a shot and be apparently facing in a totally different direction!

Unc, I've been boycotted by my local bookstudy group - they walk around my place even when they do come into this area on a Saturday morning. I'd been hoping to be able to snap a shot of the Dubs at the door for the sake of posterity - you've confirmed my belief that they're a dying breed with your last thread.

Perhaps you could pop up here to the Gong on Saturday and we could go Dub baiting together! LOL
