I was considering revealing my identity soon, but had a thought. Although I'm not active, I am well respected by my family and the witnesses from my past. Perhaps I could do more good for my family/friends and massive damage to the WT if I was to become active again. I'll also be relocating to Japan next year, where I have more social influence. Any ideas?

IMHO, I think you should do whatever is in YOUR best interests.
Whatever you may or may not be in a position to do "against" the WTS is secondary.

I wouldn't advise it. You're in this life for YOU, not for anyone else. What good could you accomplish? Causing people to realize their religion is actually a Satanic cult? The ones you'll get to are ones that'll realize anyway. As for finding secrets from the inside? They're already all out. I would stay away, it's a risky business that could wind up getting you DFd and shunned by your family.....Let well enough alone. A knaves religion is always the rottenest thing about him." I really doubt that any one of us could do massive damage to the org by being active. When I was in Japan it seemed like most people were buddists. I saw some christian churches but no kingdom halls. I'm sure there are witnesses there but I doubt very many. The japanese seemed religous tolerant to me .
Have you been to Japan before? Something I thought about when I was there is how alike the Japanese are to the Jehovah Witness ideal. In general , they dress like witnesses. The men wear suits and many women are in dresses, Its clean!! Here lies one of the biggest cities in the world (Tokoyo) and you'll not find any litter in the subways or trains. The Japenese seem quite obedient to laws and authorities. Threre is hardly any crime. Its completely safe for anyone to wander around anytime!
I think you should just enjoy your freedom from the org and get to know the Japanese culture rather than waste your time on a cult started in the US.

Comforter would like us to think he's the Watchtower spy here. Don't believe it, folks, he's not the Messiah, he's just a very naughty boy.

Actually there are over 200,000 dubs in Japan, if I'm not mistaken.

Deeply, thank you all for your responses. I never cease to be amazed how much you all care. Really.
I must admit I am a bit surprised about the comments that do not take a hard line towards the WTS. I may be a bit jadded. I suffered long and hard furthering Kingdom intrests. I gave it everything I had. It didn't work. I remember what I thought about my worldy family when I was Witness. I can only wonder what the next generation will think about me.
In any case, the more I read about the WTS the angrier I get. I feel some kind of obligation to help others see all the information on the WTS. For example, I, and my father, 50 plus years a Witness/missionary/CO/elder/ had no idea that the WTS had outlawed vaccines back in the day. This is but one card in a large house of cards.
On a different topic for Jurs, yes I spent over a year in Japan working. My fiance is Japanese, and my job pulls me there. There are a lot of Witnesses there, I actualy met a district overseer/missionary from the states in Okayama by accident in 1999 and we had a chat. As for an individual making a difference in changing attitudes... well what do the Witnesses say about that re: field service?
A side point, Japan is a strange place for foreigners like me to live. Believe it or not, I will have a lot of pull there as far as the WTS is concerned. Comments?

If you have access to documents make a copy of them if you can. If you cannot make a copy of them, then write what they say on a separate sheet of paper. Send the information to [email protected] .
If you do not have access to documents but you know other things that would be useful to the Free Christians movement, send that information as well. As a long-timer you probably know or have heard a lot of interesting, useful things.

I've been thinking about "your having some pull" because you are a foreignor. I can see where that may be the case but it could backfire. Many more will see you identified as a JW and perhaps be impressed that you are one. You may be influencing someone without ever having a conversation with them. When I was a JW we had a brother in our hall who was on Denvers news channel. He missed alot of meetings and wasn't real active but for some reason I was kindof impressed that he was a witness. I suppose I was a wee bit shallow. This same hall had a number of brothers that were sucessful and again it made me feel better that such "smart" people were brothers. You won't be able to talk to everyone you see, but you may be influencing them anyway, and in a way that is opposite of what you want. I say , Honesty is the best policy. If your being a phoney (even with good intentions) people will see through you eventually and you may loose their trust forever.
Be a straight shooter!!!!
