Ahhh yes... I almost forgot about one of the only things I liked about the meetings... the bookstudy when we would have cake and goodies afterward. One brother where we had the study had coffee at least once a month, plus he had a pool table. We'd end the study in about 45 minutes and then would retire to the pool table... ah lovely!

We used to always have the bookstudy at the KH. It was utter crap having 12 people sitting in a hall for 200

I hated having bookstudies in private homes. We were always 8-10 present and the pressure was on to answer every 2nd or 3rd paragraph.

I liked the bookstudy the best - it was at our house, so my whole family wore slippers. And we always had goodies afterwards - EVERY WEEK! And I had a lot of good friends. Like I always say, my main problem with the JW's is the Watchtower, not the people themselves.
I remember commenting a lot, but I didn't mind. We did the Greatest Man book, that was the best. It was during that book that I got reproved for the second time and they said I wasn't allowed to comment anymore at any of the meetings. (has that ever happened to anybody else?) My attendance dropped sharply, and I was out within two months.
The kingdom hall is depressing anyway. But at my house I could nap until 7, get to the meeting, stay home utnil 9:30, then head out to the pub for beers and late night sports television with my buddies.
Ahh, great days, great days... (mumbles self to sleep in rocking chair).

OK, I used to hate going to a special home for bookstudy. At one home they made us all remove our shoes before stepping on their precious carpet. The same carpet that their little ankle biter would piss and crap all over.
At another home my son was doing his first public prayer before bookstudy after getting baptised. He stumbled around a bit and then this pig of a sister said, upon completion, "that's the worst prayer I've ever heard, you really messed up".

I guess she did not learn her lesson, about her being a JW and therefore the "happiest people on earth!"
Too bad you son didn't retort: perhaps, but my prayers will improve, but you will always be an ignorant pig.

In my last bk study, including the one I don't go to now, the elders conducting prefer that the bro's wear a jacket so that they can read or say one of the prayers. Wouldn't you know it that my prefered choice of attire is a long-sleeve shirt only or a cardigan sweater? I just love to play by their rules. I think its funny that on occasion when I do go, sometimes it is just myself and the conductor being the only "baptized" males there in attendance. I wonder what the conductor is thinking about while he reads the paragraphs and gives both prayers for the bk study?
Ooops, regarding the bk study at the hall in the NE, it could be that it is a small congo and the volunteers are not as volunteering as they once were. Maybe a couple of the bro's hosting the bk study in their homes were recently accused as a pedophiles? Could be many reasons. I don't think it is new light or anything though.

Oh hell, I don't know why the book study is going to be at the kingdom hall. Maybe the whole congregation has been disfellowship for loose conduct, i.e., not wanting to kiss some elder's ass.

That never happened to me. What were your comments that got you removed from the approved for answers list?
