LDH, I saw the Cromwell episode when it was on SBS, and I thought he was very sympathetic towards old Ollie. Anyway, Ollie gets my vote, a straight-laced puritan who still managed to have fun by butchering monarchists - how can there be any other contenders??

Thank goodness, Shakepeare made it to the top ten. I was really worried there for awhile until Jan H. and Mevirginia cleared up the issue for me. My admiration for the British has been restored.

I'm impressed to see Brunel on the Top Ten. That both Ollie and Liz are there is interesting; at least Chas I isn't there! LOL

Not a bad list, but what the hell is the vapid Barbie-doll Diana doing in the top ten? Top ten of self-centred spoilt brats, maybe. Turf her and replace her with General Wolfe!

Florence Nightingale? Did I ever tell ya about my gran lost somewhere north of Manchester? .. Her given name was Florence Nightingale but she insisted being called Mavis. Maybe i should write to the Haslingden Herald and ask what happened to her? If she died, why are her Australian pension cheques still being cashed? There's something fishy going on in Blackpool i tell ya!

    wow joannadandy,

Two years on the nett and finally i find another Nick Cave fan. These other folks don't know what they're missing out on. All hail Nick Cave and the bad seeds, cult destroyers extraudinaire. They press more buttons in a three minute song than a lifetime of Simon and Garfarkle

I managed to play "who will be a witness" on one of h20's incarnations before it collapsed ..lol

    cheers, unclebruce
