"Pay Attention to Yourselves and to All the Flock"

    UNIT 5 (1 )

    Apostasy.

Apostasy is a standing away from, a falling away, defec-
tion, rebellion, abandonment; it involves teaching false
doctrines, supporting or promoting false religion and its
holidays or interfaith activities. (Deut. 13:13, 15; Josh.
    22:22, ftn.; Acts 21:21, ftn.; 2 Cor. 6:14, 15, 17, 18;
    2. John 7, 9, 10; Rev. 18:4)

If it is learned that a person has taken up association with
another religious organization, the matter should be inves-
tigated, and if verified, a committee should be formed.

If it is clearly established that the person has joined another
religion and intends to remain with it, the elders would make
a brief announcement to the congregation that suchone has
    disassociated himself. (w86

They view this as not interfaith if THEY do it. If YOU do it, it's interfaith. GOT IT?

Could that be because if you don't have as much faith as the leaders, your faith is overcome, and the goodness gets sucked right from you - may be Biblical (tm).

When YOU join the YMCA to use the pool you are committing spiritual fornication. When THEY join the United Nations to use the library card, THEY are acting as Gods Sole Means Of Communication and sometimes God needs to look shit up at the library...so get over it.

I wrote to the Virginia Holocaust Museum to ask if they would send me a letter (on their letterhead) confirming that this service took place as scheduled and giving me the names of the various members of the clergy who participated. So far no reply, but it's only been a couple of weeks. If I get an affirmative reply you can be sure that it will be scanned and made available almost immediately. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Hello everywhere and all the others,

I'm back after quite a long spell. I wish to add the following

quote (from a recent WTBS publication):

From the The Watchtower October 15th page27 "Questions From Readers"

Generally, Jehovahs Witnesses avoid such dealings with other religions

    and :

2 Corinthians 6 :14-17) What did Paul mean by the words fellowship and sharing ?

The fellowship that Paul mentions clearly involves worshipand spiritial dealings with idolaters and unbelievers. He warned the Corinthians against partaking of ...the table of demons. (1 Corinthians 10 :20,21 ) Thus , an act of interfaith is that of sharing in worship or having spiritual communion with other religious organisations. (Exodus 20 :5 ; 23 :13 ; 34 :12).

    and :

There is no sharing or fellowship between

    true and false worship .

    and :

Although we do not feel superior to those who profess other faiths, we avoid socializing with them or getting drawn into their worhip .

To Nathan: A good idea. Let's wait for the

    results.

    Greetings, J.C. MacHislopp
