Well, like I said we stayed at the Luxor hotel and it was amazing. The egyptian theme was breath taking. I played blackjack and some slots while we were there, won some lost some, but ultimately lost. I didn't go with the intention of winning anyway, just to have fun, and we did. A newly married couple that was in our group won $1100 on Let It Ride. It was kinda their honeymoon since they didn't have one and I was so happy for them since they ended up leaving with more $ then they spent. The wife (Liz) is the one who won the $--YOU GO GIRL--LOL!!

We went to club RA in the hotel, and I drank so much I almost saw my dinner again (yuck)--LOL. It was alot of fun and great music!!!

We also saw the Blue Man Group and IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! One of the blue men came right up to us (we had 3rd row) and Alex (my bf) handed him his beer, the blue man took a huge drink, looked at Alex and spit it right back into his glass!!!! I laughed soooooooooo hard I almost wet myself (I already had to go to the bathroom). The show was incredible and I would suggest to anyone going to Vegas NOT TO MISS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a blast and brought back some things to remember my experience--not that I will ever forget it anyways.

Nice to be home, and my feet still hurt from all the walking--LOL.

    Missed you guys!!!!!!!!!!

    Love,

    Jes

Don't mean to change the subject, but this being a JW board and the subject of gambling...

Was staying at the Reno Hilton on business a couple of years ago. We were working the weekend and as we were coming and going to the hotel, I saw all these people kinda dressed up on Saturday. I'm thinking some business convention. But with kids? Maybe a wedding. But they were there again on Sunday. OK, so it's not a wedding.

Then I happen to notice a songbook and a NWT in one of their hands. They were having a JW convention or something in one of the hotel's meeting facilities. It was funny to watch them steer clear of all the slot machines. Some cut through the casino. Thought of harassing one of them about being in a casino, but never did.

Thought it strange though. Once I knew who they were, it struck me as odd as to how concealed that fact actually was. Many had their books in briefcases or bags. They did not have them out. I've been to conventions and halls before. They usually have their books out.

Were they simply embarassed to be out in public and hiding them? Or were they specifically instructed to hide them so as not to give "the world" the impression that JWs were in a gambling facility?

Any ex-JWs from Nevada know whether they do this?

    Hi Jesika,

Im sorry for the bad news hun but....I had to copy this post and will turning it in to your Po. I have to tell or I'll be bloodguilty dammit!

Seriously.....how did you like the architectual perfectionism. I was taken by how things were made and how beautiful the buildings, the greenhouse effect with lights inside the hotels were.

I love it there and it's cheap.....if you don't lose too much.

Nice to see you made it back, Gumby

Jesika!!!! Glad you are back, but isn't LV a kick? I've only been there once, but I had so much fun there, too (I broke even, btw.)

jws: I don't know if they were told to hide their identity, but I remember being told to wear my name badge coming and going to the conventions to advertise! advertise! advertise! They weren't even wearing their name badges? Interesting.
