: The exorcist was based on a true story ,no thanks
Actually The Exorcist was based on SEVERAL true stories, and the possession of the little girl in the book and movie was a composite of several actual "possessions," not just one.

How y'all been!!! How's everything going? Did your son recover OK?? I believe that was around the last time we chit chatted...I think your email went bad on me er sumthin...can't remember.
Hmmm..book? I remember when I was a kid, I read this book called My Side of the Mountain...that would prolly be it.
Farkel,
To the very best of my knowledge "The Exorcist" got it's main story line from the case of "Robbie" a young teen in the George Town area who showed signs of possesion in the late 40's. However, the actual exorcism was performed in St Louis, Mo at the Alexian Brother's Hospital. Some of the superflous stuff (desecration of the church, backwards english, etc came from other cases, but in the whole the main Idea for Exorcist is based on Robbie's case. SHOWTIME did a movie called "Possessed" That is close to the truth of the Robbie event, and a book entitled "Possessed" shows the actual notes and eye witness accounts of many of those involved.
farkel- I saw a show aboout the exorcist on the discovery channel and they were interviewing priests that were involved with a demonic possessed boy but did not mention multiple accounts .It was pretty freaky the boy almost did kill the priest ,they had him tied to a hospital bed and he some how cut the straps with a part of a spring from the mattress then stabbed the priest the entire length of his arm from shoulder to wrist .
Pom.....I think that was the last time. I've been offline for a while. No computer. My hardrive crashed. I'm using my son's right now, but only for a day or two. I told Xena I'd give up TV, food, my phone, and other things for a brand new computer.
Anyway, my son is doing fine. The bullet is still in, and is moving around, but he's ok. How is your son? And the rest of the family? I've missed your music.
Didn't they make a movie of the book you mentioned?
Yeru...no way I'd live in The Godfather...rather live in that house in Amityville!
Oh yes brummie, me too! I love Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!!!!!!!
It was my favorite book ever since I was in elementary school a long, long, long time ago. I remember taking the book out of the school library over and over again. That book opened me up to the wonderful world of reading. And the movie, with Gene Wilder, was one of the great masterpieces of our time!!!!!!!!!!!

I would live in the world of the Discworld, by Terry Pratchett. Preferably the Unseen University, where I could teach all day in room 3B and never actually do a damn thing.
