Hug me and go to hell..........

Weird subject title, I know - but let me explain................

I am DF'd (12+ yrs now) so when my father (an elder) passed away last year I was shunned by everyone but one sister who came up and hugged me. Since the funeral, whenever I run into her she always gives me a hug - nice I thought.

Then last week I run into her at the supermarket - she gives me a hug and then makes a joke saying "Guess I'm going to hell now".........So I replied...."Really? That's too bad because I won't be there"

Just think......I am sooooooooooo evil now that even hugging me will send you straight to hell. Demon worshipers can repent and be forgiven to live on the paradise earth - but don't hug Dawn or you'll go straight to hell. I wondered why the baptism pool water started boiling when I stepped in it last year (ha ha)

    Dawn,

Perhaps it is her way of making a joke? Since JW's don't believe in an actual hell and aren't going there anyway. Now if she had said, "guess I'll die at Armageddon".....

Wow, your baptismal pool boiled too? Cool

    Dawn,

That "sister" is really acting weird. JW's don't usually speak of "hell". They don't believe in the "hell" of mainstream Christianity.

So what the "hell" was she talking about??

Yeah, what was she talking about!!!! You mean the WTS has new light again and now they believe in hell!!!! I wish they'd make up their minds!!!!

The "hell" comment caught me funny too. I know she was trying to make a joke...

But it's crazy how they are convinced that showing some grace or love to another person could be a bad thing.

Oh saing "go to hell" is so much easier than saying "may god smite you at Armageddon". I think you know what she means, not hell literally, but witness hell. Being slaughtered by God at the big A.

I never understood why god even freaking cares about stuff like that. I mean how many witnesses could honestly say that they are living up to what their religion teaches? And isn't God watching them all the time? I swear NOBODY ould make it through Amageddon if there was ever going to be one.

    Dawn,

Obviously she wasn't convinced or she wouldn't have been joking. She was just humorously expressing her disagreement with the JW opinion.

Just a thought, but, maybe this could be a good sign?

Not only is she talking to you which is a taboo, but she now is joking about a place that is usually not joked about by witnesses. I NEVER heard a hard-line JW joke about going to hell!

Maybe the door has just opened a little crack for you to peek in? Hope good things come to you in the future.
