Do You Forget to Reference JWD in Emails?

    Ballistic is spot on. You can open an email with an attachment with no ill effect, even if the attached file has a virus. As a n email is just a text file it can't do your computer any harm. Even a HTML email is ok, just make sure you always have script switched off in your email program. Outlook should be set on "Restricted Sites" on all incoming HTML emails.

    Anyway, open the email, just don't open the attachment.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

    We do have Norton on the home PC, but I'd heard that there are always new bugs coming out. Maybe I am being over-cautious a bit.

    We have all the latest greatest on the job, and last year we were taken down by a worm virus, a bad one. I think that scared me a bit.
