    Hi All,

I went to the mountains yesterday with my wife, daughter, Emily, Grandson and wife and great grandson. It was beautiful. I enjoyed it so much. We ate at the Mabery Mill resturant, it was overflowing, we had to wait for an hour to get our table. While waiting we sat out front on a bench with others. Emily was having so much fun, there was another couple with two boys, one Emily's age, and one a year older. It kept us entertained watching them play. It's hard to beleive my daughter is a grandma, she looks about 25. People are always mistaking her for her son's wife.

We stopped at a little mart and I stayed in the car, I don't really like shopping unless I have something specific in mind to buy. While sitting there I looked out over the mountains and there were several beautiful green pastures with beautiful trees in many fall colors as far as I could see. It reminded me of the picture I once had of the paradise earth that we were promised by the Borg. The earth is so beautiful, I don't want to leave it. I guess that's why the idea of a new earth is so captivating for so many people. The mental picture is so nice, but the reality is not even related.

Have the leaves turned all those beautiful colours yet? The mountians are always beautiful in the fall. We used to go camping in the Smokey Mountians when we were kids. It was so much fun.

Did you take any pictures? I think it would be nice if you could share a bit of NC beauty with everyone else.

Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning. Especially in the Mountians.

    How lovely.

Today I looked out my office window and noticed our trees in the street have leaves...being on the 11th floor I have watched the trees change from bare to budds and now to full green. Also, being spring here our weather is warming up and the days are longer. My favourite time of year.

Nature is nice, no matter where you sit to enjoy it.

Trucker, we call it Autum also. I just used a little redneck slang is all. LOL

I hope Ken took pictures so that you can all see what a beautiful state we live in.

I love the mountains too. We have quite a beautiful string alongside us, that is just a branch of the Blue Ridge, known as the Shenandoah mountains. And, I'm from Maryland, and we have the Catoctin mountain range. Right now, the leaves are at their peak here in VA. Simply beautiful.

Some years are better than others, and the colors this time, the bright oranges, reds, golds, yellows, are picture perfect. The recent rain and dip in temperature was just enough to make the colors vibrant. One tree really stood out. It was an orangey/pink. People around here have commented on seeing it.

When I was in Maryland, I lived for several years in Thurmont, which is where Camp David is located. That is a quaint little town to visit in the foothills.

Next month we will fly over the Blue Ridge Mountain range, on our way to Kentucky to see family.
