  Root is - Goddamn pedophiles and power mad cult leaders convinced they are the voice of God wanting to keep their tenuous grip on feeble minds.

  Imbalance of power.

  The more patriarchal the environment, the greater the imbalance of power.

  Child abusers act out their abnormal need for power - child abuse is rape. Rape is not about sex - it is about power.

  The root cause of the child abuse within the WT Society and JW's problem is - An 136 year old organization called the WT Society built on patriarchal principles that emphasizes the control of men as " heads " over women and children and minimizes the need for or importance of women and children to even exist , let alone to have rights .

  The self important, pompous, arrogant attitude of WT leaders thinking that they know better than law enforcement officials in how to handle pedophiles, child abuse crimes- so much so - that they try to hide the crimes and handle it " in house " so as to fake out the public and fake out even it's own JW members and have an APPEARANCE of being a " righteous, clean " organization - when in fact the WT Society is nothing more than a CRIMINAL organization posing as a religion. So this is another root cause.

  These are the root causes of what allows WT officials to flout the law allowing child molesters to serve again as elders once time goes by. WT leaders feel entitled- they feel they are above the law because they feel they ARE the law. They feel they speak for " God " - or ARE " God " - so they answer to nobody. So they must be brought to justice and forced to face their crimes. It's how I see it

  sorry, but the watchtower pedophile child-rape crimes pale in comparison to other entities. Edmonton AB Canada Army commander charged with crimes against recruits. UK Politicians, Entertainers, Immigrant societies victimizing thousands at a time. Wt might be caught with their pants down in an issue that the "bible" did not prepare them for, but compared what is going to come out from society in general. wt will not look worse than the rest, IMHO.

  I'm going to have to disagree because of one thing… None of those other entities claim to be directed by God himself or that they have "The truth". So yes, they will look much worse than the rest.

  True, but they were the Gods, powerful, adored ones in their domain, entertainment, the local law, the military, the sports heroes. so the imaginary desert creator fared no better than the local "stars" now. perhaps locals will recoil from their idols more than from the failure of the hamfisted local JW presbytery? and their tunnel-vision instructions?

  Prologos, you mention several professions, etc, that you claim have rampant sex abuse problems. However, can you say that these entities make the victims face internal judical committees without going through the proper legal processes for justice?

  I think you are comparing apples to oranges. What is happening right now with the Royal Commission in Australia is that the Institutional policies on how child abuse is handled are being examined, not whether or not some celebrity or military person committes a crime.

  Rape is about forcibly satisfying those "frustrating" hormone levels. If you cannot see that rape is about exerting power over the object of that sexual frustration...well....I am at a loss for words. Unless, of course, you wouldn't mind being that object of sexual desire for a guy who is stronger and bigger than you who forces you ro bend over and touch your toes so he can satistfy those frustrating urges that he doesn't think he should have to control. If that happened to you would you say that it was about sex? Or about him exerting his power over you?

  Another surprising thing is that sex offenders against adults share many characteristics with sex offenders against children (Whitaker et al 2008). a common denominator and predictor of sex abuse (and any kind of abuse actually - and this is something that an individual can unlearn) being disorganized attachment together with low mentalisation (Shemmings and Shemmings 2011) - in this - low mentalisation that is - the victim is seen as an extension of oneself and not as a person. In other words the perpetrator will say that the victim caused him to commit the crime. But of course the GB go a step further and identify the tears of the perpetrator as being an indicator of repentance. Presumably then the frozen emotions of the victim or their acting aggressive and anxious around the perp demonstrates guilt? How many victims have been disfellowshipped because of becoming aggressive and anxious? loads. The problem is that when children display this sort of behaviour around the perp it actually is a predictor that they are being abused in some way (ADAM project).

  orphancrow - all intitiutions are being inquired into. You would need to examine transcripts of insitituions that the royal commission have already inquired into to make that sort of claim - that apples and oranges are being compared.
