Okay, here's something a bit creepy.
The worldly guy I was seeing when I turned 21 (who ended up being my first husband) was trying to enlighten me about the joys of sexual exploration, so he drove me to this selected spot, back off of a dirt road next to the river. At first it was very romantic. We were so in love. There was a full moon, that kept disappearing behide clouds, and I noticed when we put the windows down, the critters, crickets, frogs and whatever were just churping away. There was a nice breeze rustling through the trees, as it was very hot and humid.
A few minutes later, we suddenly "felt" like we weren't alone, and at the same time realized that there was not one sound coming from the woods. Absolutely nothing. It was as still as death, and the moon was nowhere to be seen. It was so very dark, with not a spark of light from any human dwelling in the area. We were both petrified, trying to get the windows wound back up and the car started. For some reason, we were extremely frightened of this unearthly stillness. Something wasn't right.
The headlights came on, and as we were quickly backing up to turn around and leave, I was looking back to make sure we didn't hit a tree, when I saw something very tall and thin beside a tree, near to the rear of the car. I screamed, and he said he saw something too. It moved away from the tree, and stood upright, but was weirdly shaped. It seemed very curious and didn't run. It was too dark to get a good look, as backup lights are not that bright, ......and I'm glad. I don't think it was human. It was far too spindly, and the head was too large.
Right now I am getting shivers just thinking about that event. Because of the fact, that whatever it was, it had already gotten very close to the car----too close. What would have happened if "it" actually came right to the car window? We would have died of fright, frozen into heaps of petrified fear, that wouldn't have allowed us to "get away". When you actually get too scared to scream--I mean, the sounds are there, but they won't come out, you know you are seriously in trouble. You can't move!
Usually, my guy was always so cool, so in control. But, this time, as he slid the car around in the dirt and grass, trying to get back onto that dirt road, he said he saw "it" too, and he kept saying over and over again to me: "what was that?...It wasn't a man!.....what do you think that was? We never found a logical answer....We tried to convince each other that we didn't see it, but we knew we did, and we knew it wasn't human and it wasn't animal. ( I just added it to the long list of my other unusual experiences that there didn't seem to be an answer for. )
Fear of the unknown can be debilitating, to say the least.
