force it? Last I checked the Australian government has elected members. Do they force Australians? They need to improve the laws they have now as they do in the US (varies from state to state, no standard federal law at this point).

South Australia is the only jurisdiction to include clergy as mandated reporters, although the duty does not extend to suspicions developed through confession.

New mandated reporters from religious organisations, and sporting or recreational organisations, and increase in penalty (commencing 31 December 2006)

The Children’s Protection (Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 2005 (SA) (No 76) s 10(1) increased the penalty to $10,000. Significantly, s 10(2) also added new categories of mandated reporters as follows:

 (ga) a minister of religion

 (gb) a person who is an employee of, or volunteer in, an organisation formed for religious or spiritual purposes.

However, a limit was placed on clergy’s mandated reporting duty by s 10(5) inserting a new s 11(4) as follows:

 (4) This section does not require a priest or other minister of religion to divulge information communicated in the course of a confession made in accordance with the rules and usages of the relevant religion.

In addition, s 10(4) added to s 11(2)(j) ‘sporting or recreational’ organisations to the list of services included in the mandatory reporting organisations.

Secular govts do not give rats you now what about internal rreligous investigations that do not acknowledge the role of ceaser . They dislike untrained people that do not answer to state its a crime to molest a child they want money compensation and safety in there countries.

Will the WTS be forced to change...only if the Australian authorities dog them every step of the way and require other religions to follow the same policies, the RC for example. The WTS views governments as the tools of Satan and can be lied to and go underground with all this if the laws do not support their beliefs. The WTS has said it is okay to lie to people/organizations that do not deserve the truth to protect "god's organization."
