I'm sorry to hear about the crime committed against you, and hope you have pressed charges against the individual responsible. I tried to warn people as far back as 1996 to be careful on these forums but was flamed as "paranoid" and "delusional" etc... I'm thankful that those like yourself have become "net saavy" and know how to reduce the risk.

I am sorry to hear what happened.

I have also had a bad experience on net. Thankfully not in this forum but I did have a stalker for a while. that was pretty scary.

So yes I am very careful as to what information I give out.

I agree with your cautionery words, Zev.

Mrs Ozzie often expresses to me her concern that some I.D. details and travel details are not revealed. The thing is, I think we're basically trusting souls and it doesn't occur to "us" that there's people out there who are intent of evil to wards us. How naive we can be!!

Information like this needs to come out. We all need to be alert to the dangers we could face online. Boards like this bring out a lot of good people like Zev here but they also bring out the psychos. Anyone could be the target of some dub zealot, whether prominent here or not.
