Sorry my last two post didnt have anything to do with the subject at hand. I guess i have nothing to say about being seen by JW's with other women, cause if i was seen, i would've been busted, and been guilty on top of it. (before i became a real christian)

Mulan,
Wow! Thanks to you they had a new subject for the local needs talk. "The Perils of Shopping at Costco." It's the new hot spot for people seeking a romantic rendezvous. Think about it. You can go to the deli stand and get those big wieners. How Freudian is that? They sell condoms by the gross. And don't forget how the men at the door are always asking to see your slip.

Speaking of gossip mills....
About 10 years ago or so, I worked in a retail store. Shortly after I started working there, a new manager was brought in - a nice fellow who took the job because he was eager to move his family from the area where they lived to one with more financial advantages. I totally understood his motivation, because my husband and I did the same thing a few years prior to that.
As it turned out, after a few weeks, his sister was waiting for him in the staff room (he was staying with her and her husband and kids while he was preparing to move his own family), and she saw me preparing for the book study. She asked me if I was a JW, and I said that I was. She told me that she was too - the family was French circuit so we had never met them before. The manager, I learned, was studying with the JWs too, and was preparing to get baptized.
Because I was in charge on evenings when I worked, the manager stayed until closing because there was supposed to be two people doing the count for the day's sales plus the float for the next day. We were always in plain view of the storefront windows, but once it became known by the "sister" that I was a JW too, she started slandering me to everyone in her congregation - and it got back to me via the manager - he told me that she was telling everyone that I was trying to seduce him and break up his marriage and my own. He said that his sister warned him to not even have a cup of coffee with me because it would lead to temptation.
When I confronted her on it, she denied it, but then said she didn't think it was right for me to be alone with the manager after closing while we finished up the work for the day. I told her she was being stupid and ridiculous - that a "worldly" person wouldn't be slandered the way she was slandering me for merely doing my job.
She kept slamming me - and it resulted in my being approached both by the elders AND upper management at work - and then he took a job elsewhere. I still can't believe some of the ludicrous accusations she made against me especially when she made a complaint to the district manager that I was stealing from the store and holding Bible meetings with other employees in the store - things that never even crossed my mind to do.
If there's one person I ever wanted to beat with a baseball bat, it was her.

If there's one person I ever wanted to beat with a baseball bat, it was her.
I commend you Scully, because after reading your story, if it had been me, I WOULD have beaten her with a baseball bat until it broke several bones in her body or left her permanently disfigured or handicapped.
Unfortunately sometimes that is the only thing such dumb ass people can understand. You cannot rationalize with the foolish, and when it infringes upon your quality of life by threatening your job or means of making an income to support yourself? Fuck em. No mercy.
You see it has been my experience that many JDubs are hypocritical and two-faced (as if that is not obvious and most of us here on the board do not already know that)... and attempting to handle things in a civilized manner is fruitless, because they derive joy out of causing drama and problems.
Listening to these stories saddens me, because it reminds me of what sick, twisted, pathetic individuals many JDumbs are. It takes me back to when I was a Witness, and I remember all too well how their entire world is composed of congregation gossip and slander. The JW doctrine restricts them so heavily from enjoying anything, that talking about one another and playing congregation watchdog is the only means of satisfaction many of these people get.

Loved the story, Mulan. Reminded me of this:
Not so many weeks ago Mrs Ozzie and I had decided to have a meal at the Apostates Restaurant. When we arrived to much hugging and kissing with greetings from the proprietors, we were shown to our table. Guess who was on the adjoining table? A large group of dubs! Very well known to us. Not "leading lights" but "try hards" none the less.
How is it possible to shun people like that and in that situation? Well, they tried!! I gave a cheery greeting....... and got "THE LOOK". After finishing their meal they all left without a word.
If only they'd known where they were!!! A favourite haunt of the apostates and moles and a meeting up place with those who lurk on the board to meet the Ozzies. It's also got the best chef for miles around!
Cheers, Ozzie
