Ez,
you got it!
I THOUGHT I detected something Enya-ish in you.
Hey, I was listening to Enya when she was "second fiddle"
to her sister Maire during her short stint in 'Clannad'.
The Ryans, Nicky and Roma saw something in Enya that was special...
so they struck out on their own in a studio near Dublin
and the rest is history.
Yep, I've got (almost)all of Enya's discography.
Can you tell me of any person who uses her VOICE
as an instrument the way Enya does...?
and the texturing and layering of that voice which is Nicky's talent... shaping it into such a rich mix...
and last but not least is Roma,
the lyricist, who if I'm not mistaken
writes All the lyrics for Enya.
What a combination.
From the beginning of my turn to the ethnic music
of my ancestry - Irish Gaelic - I have never felt such
"ancient" feelings well up inside me as when listening
to the likes of The Bothy Band, Planxty, Clannad, Enya...
and many others.
