Oh, dear. A lot of that sounds quite familiar to JWs, doesn't it?

Hitchens had an article in slate today regarding Mother Teresa. He believed that her strict conservative catholocism only perpetuated the misery of those she tried to serve. I think he has a point. When one of the problems in a place like calcutta is overpopulation, it seems stupid not to encourage birth control and womens rights. While she was probably a nice lady, what did she really accomplish? The place is still a wreck. If she had used the donations provided to her to encourage education and birth control it may have actually solved some of the problems.
