Ah yes, you took it to the elders. That speaks volumes.
Anyone ever led on by a member of opposite sex?

I am out of the org.
This happened a very long time ago and i am over it. I thought it would be interesting to read other peoples' experiences.

It happened to me once and that was the last time I let it happen.
He was the PO of my congregation. I was new to this congregation and was just trying to get established and concentrate on my spiritual interests, blah, blah, blah...
But one day, I had come to the meeting before the morning congregation had let out. I was at the back of the Kingdom Hall and he came up and whispered in my ear asking if it would be alright to call me some time. I said to him, I don't think this is the right time and place, we stepped outside to talk some more. I told him that I was obliged, but that I was trying to put kingdom interests first.
After my meeting that day, I asked a sister about him and that he had asked me for my number. She just said he is probably just wanting to give you a shepherding call some time, and she told me his wife had recently passed away. Well about a month passed and I went to a congregation picnic and he asked me if he could fix my plate for me. Well, by this time I had developed some interest in him, I thought he was one of the most loving elders I had ever met. But, I just said no thank you I will fix my plate. I would have loved for him to fix my plate, but I guess I was trying to take it slow.
The very next day at the kingdom hall, I saw him with a very young girl, who I thought was his neice or something, they were sitting together. After I got home I got a call from my close friend who told me that he had announced his engagement to her. I was shockedand cried like a baby. I called another elder to ask him about this. And he suggested that I call him directly. So I called him and asked him if it was really true and he said yes. I told him I thought you were showing some interest in me. He just said do you know what it means for a brother in his position to break an engagement. I sincerely asked him if he was happy, he said yes.
I don't hold anything against him, he now has at least two children that I know of, and I hope he is still happily married, I guess I didn't move fast enough for him.

I'm guilty. I used to be a slut before I got married. At least I lead them on far enough for both of us to get some of what we wanted.

eisenstein,
So this PO remarried within months of his wife's death??? Consider yourself lucky that you didn't marry him. He would have had some issues to deal with that wouldn't have been fair on you.
My two cents.

Yea, Prisca, you're right...they had been married a long time and had grown children together. That's why I thought it would be good to take it slow. Also, he was about 25 years older than me too. Although, I didn't have a problem with the age difference.
Anyway, looking back, I am better off.

Of course. Been lead on. Lead women (girls?) on. I convinced myself otherwise at the time, but truth be told, I would have done just about anything to get some.

It is not usual for men, that have been widowed after a many years of marriage, especially if it was happy, to get married again soon after their wives death. They had happiness and they want it again, soon. This guy didn't necessarily have "issues".
Though, his tactics bite.
