Thank God you and CC are ok, Tinkerbell. I was so worried yesterday, and as the hours went by after I posted about if ya'll were ok,,,,, I just got sick with worry. I just thought for the best , thinking there was probably phone and power lines down and thats why you didnt respond. But you never know. You are right about life and people , the value of it.

I am so sorry for the family that lost the little boy next door, that broke my heart. I cried last night looking at the destruction and all the toys scattered around the place. I know I didnt know these people but they belong and were loved by someone. It does make me thankful for what time I have with my family, and to make each day count, don't go a day without saying I love you.

Please pass on to your neighbors our love if possible . You know there were alot of folks here worried about ya'll, so I am so grateful you are ok. I know you will have your work cut out for you helping the neighbors and rebuilding.

You two are such sweet loving people , I am sure your neighbors will be glad to have you at their sides right now.

Thanks for letting us know you are fine. Lots of love, Dede

Tink, so glad the family is alright. Your brother is a stand up guy in my book, covering the family with his own body. It is sad to hear of the little boy next door, but I hope the rest of the family pulls through.

Your post also showed that more than just JWs care about people, with the guys helping out with the roof.

Thank you for sharing that news and again, I'm very plesed to hear your brothers family is okay.

    Tink,

I'm glad to know you made it through this storm. I see too that Cassi made it, as she posted this moring also.

I feel so bad for the family who lost their son. I don't think I could bare it.

Also, it's ncie to see that there are still good people in the world, willing to help out in situations such as this.

Tink - this whole tornado tragedy has sent shivers up my spine. Before I even knew about the weather and what it had done - I was on the line with a mother in a car who was desperately trying to get a hold of her daughter. I could hear the wind whipping at her car and I went thru my screens at quite a frenzied pace. I managed to get her transferred - but the call stayed with me, being a mom and all - but when I got home and read the news I went numb.

I've been in storms, but never a tornado. Now I wish I could reach that woman to find out if she is ok, remembering the winds at her car. I'm so thankful your brother and family are safe. I instantly worried about everyone here, who lived in the path of those things.

I also hate that they are called 'acts of God'. It's like telling ppl that god chose to take their loved ones in this cruel fashion. As per a previous poster - I'm glad to see the good in people standing out during these times - and rebuilding the roof.

My sincere condolences are offered to the families who lost their loved ones.

Glad to hear you're alright - has everyone else from that area "reported in?". My condolences to the family that lost their son - these types of tragedies just never make any sense.

But, on a positive note, once again Americans have shown their determination, courage & love for their neighbors & strangers. Isn't it strange that it always takes a tragedy to remember what we're really made of? Food for thought.

Oh dear! How incredibly frightening. So glad that your brother and his family made it through safely. So sad about the little boy across the road :( I've had recurring nightmares about tornadoes since I was a little girl. They terrify me. My heart goes out to all those who are suffering because of this disaster

The kindness of those strangers helping with the roof brought tears to my eyes!!

Wow Tink, yes, those storms were very nasty. I'm sorry to hear about your brother's difficulties!.....that's quite a story, and of course shows how uncertain life is.

    Tink,

AM glad you are all right and your family survived. Here we had some damage from high winds. One lady whose house is old had a 100 year old tree fall.. at least it did not damage the house but the road was blocked. An up in Hickory the "legendary" sink hole has grown by leaps and bounds. Swallowing up ground and everything else.

But none of that, can compare with the damage around the areas the tornado touched down on. I am orginally from California.. the land of earthquakes. I am not used to devil winds .. ( unless they are the Santa Ana's and even they aren't as bad as this). So it is a bit scary for me. I can handle earthquakes.. it is when the sea, and air attack you. Hurricanes and Tornados, those I will pass on thank you. ( Yea like I have control over that.)

I hope for the best for everyone and have sent a care package of items through the Red Cross here. (( Hugs)) and best wishes.

    Xandria
