I definitely have to cope with some addictions in my life.

Addiction # 1:

I am addicted to exercising.

I do not know how many of you are aware of the term "runner's high" in which a person experiences a feeling of satisfaction and contentment after a long, vigorous workout. This is due to the increased production and release of a chemical called endorphins. For more information on this you can read the following:

I literally do not feel right if I have not lifted weights or did my aerobic exercise for the day. I feel down if I do not work out. Strange huh?

Addiction # 2:

I am addicted to sex.

I am a young, early-20 something male with LOTS of testosterone.. and after having been taught sex was bad by the Jehovah's Witnesses and after being suppressed in my childhood.. and with all the good looking ladies out there... need I say more?

Addiction # 3:

I am addicted to food.

I LOVE to eat.

It is one of the greatest satisfactions one can have in life. It provides nourishment obviously but who does not appreciate and eagerly anticipate a fine meal?

Addiction # 4:

I am addicted to this damn computer.

Even while at work or roaming on a laptop, I find myself on this website or checking my mail or the daily news online. So yeah, I think I have developed a slight addiction to the Web!

LIFE--and everything that goes with it: people, nature, animals (3 "kids"), books, the ocean, food, (esp. ice cream and chocolate), drinks, sex (can I ever make up for lost time?!) and smoking some kind bud (better than tobacco for me). Hmmm, I really am addicted to life!

I guess it's no big surprise though, considering that most of us on these boards have NOT been living our true lives until getting out of the borg.

Reading the dictionary definition, I guess I do not have any real addictions.

That said, I have lots of interests, hobbies and "turn ons".

My lovely wife, great food, red wine, an occasional smoke, SF, all kinds of music - listening and playing. One thing I cannot get enough of is the warm Hawaiian surf. It's like a magnet to me - I cannot sit for long on the beach and relax -just have to get up boogie board, surf, body surf and otherwise frolic in the water for hours at a time. It's not uncommon that I can barely walk back to the car at the end of the day after a day at the beach. Hey, maybe that's my addiction?
