I was baptized Twice in the Witness organization. Twice within three years. Anyone else?

As an explanation, my old man made me get baptized the first time under threat of physical violence. After that I got publicly reproved and later decided to get baptized again. Sort of a fresh start. Not that it did me much good long term.

Once by dunking a la Dubbie style, once by fire, a la lessons of life and finally once by immersion in the "ocean of his words".

    Third time's the charm!!

Kinda only once, but I had to go under twice in a row because the first time a bit of me didn't go under properly. I'll leave you to guess what bit of me that was!

Of course, I got baptized in the Mormons as well, that was fairly pleasant actually. They had a special miniature pool surrounded by glass so everyone could watch and applaude. Warm water in the pool. A very professional job. Afterwards, little quarter sandwiches for everyone, cupcakes baked by the sisters and a glass of green coolaid. Very nice of them I thought. They went to a lot of trouble.

Matty, too funny, actually now you mention that, I seem to recall seeing it happen from time to time. Too funny man. Of course, perhaps the appendage that was so resistant to being submerged was a sign of later things to come? It didnt want to die to this world. (You werent DF for fornication were you??)

Twice: once as an infant -- into Catholicism, the other as a JW when I was in my 20's.

    Just the once.

I believed I really was dedicating myself to God. I know some Christians don't regard a JW baptism as a "real" baptism, but I disagree. It's a promise between you and God, regardless.

Hey Pris, I feel like dub baptism isnt real. But maybe youre right. If you really were sincere maybe it counts. Ive been baptized at least three times that I recall .Its a bit of a worry when your not sure how many times youve "dedicated your life to God" ans "symbolically" been deadened to the world of your flesh, dont you think? Actually, for all I know, I might have been sprinkled when I was a babe too. For all of it though, I dont feel any closer to the Biblical God or Jesus. Ive gotten nowhere with any of it. And now, I just dont care. I figure if God wants me, he can come in a burning bush and address me direct. Sheesh.
